Buying S350 tomorrow - advice?

Hey guys,

Haven't posted in a while, been a little busy. I'm buying an S350 tomorrow. I've checked Edmunds for TMV, I know MB has a dealer holdback of 3% of total MSRP (not sure if that includes destination or not), and S350's have a $5000 dealer cash incentive. I'm going to ask for all season mats to be thrown in and wheel locks. I've done my homework, hoping to get one for around $57000 or so, assuming they're willing to cut into their holdback, which is not certain by any means.

Anyway, if anyone has any tips, suggestions, comments, I'd be glad to hear them. Otherwise, if all goes well, I'll post pics of the new ride tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving!

Sounds great to me...you are going to love it! I paid $74307 for my S430 with a list of $81884 so you are looking good. What extras are on the car and what is the list?

Different dealers have different options. All have heated front seats and 6 disc CD changer.

In addition, they have:

1. Sirius radio, or
2. Keyless Go, or
3. Electronic trunk closer, or
4. Nothing additional.

Not sure which we'll get for now. Likely whichever dealer gives the best price.

I'm not sure how much of the dealer incentive and holdback any of them will be willing to part with. At the same time, I'm sure they want to clear off their lots considering it's an outgoing body style and the end of the year is rolling around. I imagine the incentive will go up next month, but I'd rather just get it this weekend.

BTW, S430 has $7000 incentive now. Sounds like you got a good deal, though. Did you pay above or below invoice?

Another BTW, what happened to the R-class you wanted so badly?

One more thing: I thought there was a list or file somewhere on the forums that shows how many sales each dealership has had each month. Sound familiar to anyone?

The trunk closer is really convenient as is KG. SIRIUS you can add later.

I really did not see the invoice on the car but based on Edmunds figures my price was between $1500-2000 under invoice. I had checked an did not find a incentive in September but I gave the dealer a figure of $71,000 and we bargained from there...his first offer was as I remember $78,500.

Sounds like they were willing to cut a little more than halfway or so into their holdback. Nice job!

Anyone else with any advice, etc.?

Well, mission accomplished. Got the car (2006 S350, options = Sirius, heated fronts, CD changer) for under $56k before TT&L.

Pics to come.
