Have you ever sat in the back seat of your car?

We took a couple to dinner a few nights ago and they remarked as to how much rear seat leg room that the rear seat has. When we got home I asked my wife to drive around some while I rode in the back. I must confess that I had never done that! Very comfortable. Now I know why when we are with other couples that they always want to take our car...I'm a friggin chaufer!! It is nice to receive compliments.

I have of course, not in quite a while though.

I think there's actually too much leg room in the back, especially for a person like me where I rarely have adults in the back. And the seats in the back feel somewhat more comfortable than the front seats.

Sounds like you need a CL. Tons of room in the front--seat goes back far enough to break legs for those in the back.

If you think there's a lot of room in your W220 go sit in an Audi A8L even more room.

I know about the 8L and you are right. I was talking to my brother about this and we were remembering that back in the '60's our parents had a '67 Caprice 4 door with a 396 that I think might have been bigger that the W220 back seat. I remember going to my Sr prom in that car and I could lay all the way across that back seat an I was 6'2" at the time!! There was lots of room for fun in those old American cars.

Of course, the W220 exported to the U.S. were long wheelbase models (until the '06 S350) - meaning they had an extra 5 inches of legroom, mostly in the back.

When you have your teen son driving you tend to sit in the back. Feels really good back there.
