umm.. hey accord.. can i borrow your s600 for a week? i have plenty of ls430's here.. i can test them all out..
lol, if you understood my sentence or phrase correctly you noticed i said plenty of lexus's.. thats right.. there are too MANY DAMNED LS430's here.. psh, why does my dad always bring up the point that no one in the neighborhood has a sl500? because its a vaild one, its gonna be the same w/ the s600 when it comes.. hopefully :P

Yes, it is. The 745i goes 0-60 in 5.9 seconds which is faster than the S500.

well i know that bmw isnt to conservative with their test numbers but those specs seemed way off

thats wat it says as the curb weight in the r & t...curb weight 4510 lbs, test weight (w/ driver): 4660 lbs.
maybe some of the options on the test car added the weight...ie the 19" rims, cold weather pkg, convienience pkg, etc.

C'mon and get over it. A 290 HP V8 is not underpowered on the LS430. Compared to your V12, it has less power. UNDERPOWERED is the wrong word. The fact that it matches the S500's 0-60 most of the time, and sometimes off by .3 seconds, is not bad at all. And if you are going to say it is underpowered, then the S500 may as well be underpowered too.

wtf are you talkin about sicklex, my blind views? what about the blind views of those who think a lexus is better then a s600 or bentley arnage? ...youd get a ls430 over and s500 why? cause of price? All Im sayin is Id rather pay more for the better car and oh yeah while altimas have 245 hp i hear it does 0-60 in 6.9 (i may be wrong) which is the same 0-60 speed as the C320

yea but caliz....you need to also look at the prices, the price of the s430 starts at 73,000, and the starting price of the ls430 is 54,000, with the ultra lux pack, the car comes out to 73,000. That is around the same as the base s430. And the ls comes with more stuff than the s430, or 500. Also, it is much faster than the s430, and nearly as fast as the s500...and just because a car is more expensive than the other doesnt mean it is better..look at the s-type and the gs300, the gs blows it away in every aspect

i agree the S430 is overpriced, but the looks of the car is also hell of important to me and I think the s class is like the best looking sedan out there. But yeah I agree the lexus is a great car and the price is awesome but I like the S Class better and thats why I would pay more for it... fair enough?

Well your wrong there because the Altima has 240 HP and most magazines and sites have gotten it to 60 in 6.3 seconds. I have yet to race one, but I know people who have and they didn't get the biggest kill on them. It's all about the driver.

That's all we needed to hear. No one said the LS430 is better than the S600, or atleast I did. For everyday driving, we believe the LS430 is better than the S600 just because the LS is more practical as a daily driver.
For less than 70K, you can get the LS430 with the UL package, and it will have everything, if not more, than the S430 and S500. That's a bargain right there. And yeah, the S looks better than the S, but not by 20,000 dollars.

i think it is because they want a prestige name, to a lot of ppl, that really doesnt matter, like to my parents, prestige, and name is all that counts when getting a lux cars, thats why we are getting a e500 over a ls, jag, audi, and 740i

You can get the "Guard" as a special order option on any Mercedes-Benz vehicle except for the AMG's. It is a 75,000 dollar option.

wow, but it is cool, wioth everything it has, including the gas tank that cant get puntured, the run flat tires, and the rear windows dont come down, so you can get a option where there are mics, and speakers inside and out of the car....that is cool..
