rappers always talk about there lexus sc's, but i think those are terrible looking cars, just ugly

 

To each is their own. It grows one some, it doesnt on others. I think the interior is superior to the SL500s, but the exterior is not.

 

The S-Class is better than anything Cadillac makes, however, the only reason the presidential limo is a Cadillac is because they are an American company. It would look pretty bad for the president to ride around in a foreign vehicle.

Also, I saw a program on the Discovery Channel about the presidential vehicles... not one part of the Cadillac limo is an original OEM part from Cadillac aside from a few emblems and body work.

 

Keep in mind that Cadillac's customer target is not that of MBs. They offer affordable luxury, just like Lexus does.

 

yea, accord is right, they cant drive foreign cars, it woiuld look very bad, but in most other countries, they all have s-500's, i guess they are the guard ones

 

the s class is also a major status symbol, it shows wealth and power and prestige, that is probably a major factor why many prominent people drive them

 

well...in other countries its more on the company not model.....if you go to a poor country they dont know what a e500 with key-less-go is...but they know about mbz...and they know its the worlds best automaker. so its more on the name mercedes-benz, and the 3-pointed star of course

 

See, that's the problem. MB makes fantastic cars, that are extremely nice. But for people to rule out Lexus and other Luxury Car companies and think that MB is the worlds best auto maker is just wrong, and that is what annoys me the most.

 

i was talking to my cousin todya.. he said the interior of the sl500 (which he sat in when he slept the night over) looked fake.. i gave him a question of confusing. he then responded with "because it looks so futuristic."

he is a sophmore and has a ml320 and a s430... nice cars.. lol

not all the rims on all the Escalades are ugly.. sometimes people prefer them to look cool. Why have it when you can't flaunt it? lol some people live by that and we should let them, because sometiems they are the ones that loose it. Not that i'm directing this to anyone.. lol

Okay, I skimmed over the majority of this thread and stopped somewhere around page 20 or so (too much reading, not enough time). Basically my overall message here is:

QUIT COMPARING THE S600 to the LS430!! Are you guys fuccking boneheads?! How about I compare the S600 a Bentley Azure? fucck it, why don't I compare the S600 to a Gulfstream GV jet?? Come on, don't be ridiculous! The Lexus LS430 is superior to Mercedes' offering of the S430 and even climbs up a bracket to head off the S500----which makes Lexus a superior bang for the manufacturer compared to Mercedes.

I can't believe how beetleheaded some of you are to make such ignorant statements as "Lexus is just a Lexus. Lexus is not a Mercedes" Christ! Get over yourselves. Accord especially, you are too convinced that your **** don't smell because of your S600. You think Mercedes makes the end-all greatest cars in the world. Brainwashed! You'd probably buy a piece of bird **** for $500 just because it had a Mercedes logo stamped in it . I could see Mercedes quality decline for the next 30 years and you will still be throwing cash at them. Unbelieveable. All I see here is sheeple, I hear the same rhetoric from you MB-loyals that I heard from a Mercedes salesperson who heard this pitch from Mercedes' marketing team. Apparently, you guys are good at recital.

Funny also how half of you MB guys say the LS430 is ugly looking, stupid looking, etc. Yesterday you were saying the LS430 ripped off it's looks from the old S-class. So am I to assume your beloved Mercedes Benz used to make ugly, stupid crappy looking cars? Oh, but yours are cool though, right? Come on .

Any audiophiles in here? Well Mercedes uses Bose speakers, Lexus uses Mark Levinson. I rest my case. Wait, let me exbound on that thought. Bose is overpriced crap marketed towards the ignorant, illinformed masses who value brand-name recognition above value and performance. Mark Levinson makes high quality, high performance, reliable amplifiers that are prized and respected by near all audiophiles. Lexus aligns itself with Levinson, Mercedes with Bose----you draw your own conclusions.

Those are just my thoughts for now. I'm not here to preach or tell you Lexus is better, as some of you are already lost causes when it comes to objective comparisons. I'm just responding and setting things back in perspective. BTW, my post was not directed towards the majoity here. They are some really rational sounding folks here. The others though already have fanatic stamped on their foreheads so there is no reason to name them.

the lexus is a great car but i think of it as just another car. If one passed by me on the road, i wouldnt even notice. (unless it had all the windows rolled down with the mark levinson sound system blasting)

 

dont worry about that, my e500 with the logic 7 will blast that ls430's ml out of its socket....and about those windows....they wont be down, they will all be shattered...

 

Another thing I omitted in my first post: aftermarket. Mercedes aftermarket is grossly overpriced. It's ridiculous what some of you will pay for a Kleeman blower or a Renntech engine build. I mean $19,000 is absurd for a 75bhp gain. A $400 NOS fogger kit will put the same amount to the wheels. Even the 115bhp gain on the $10,000 Kleeman blower is out of hand! Swift Racing sells a blower for the IS300 that is good for 100rwhps and is only $5000 installed---and even that is expensive power. Have you guys ever heard of cost-benefit analysis? The Kleeman and Renntech is all aftermarket for a 3.2 liter Mercedes M112 engine. You know the 3.0 liter Lexus 2JZ-GE I-6 has a $7000 bolt-on Toyomoto twin turbo kit that brings the SC300/GS300/IS300 from 190rwhps to 450rwhps with BPU-. With BPU+, you can achieve upwards of 550rwhps, which is around 700bhp when you calculate it. And to speak of the reliability, it is impeccable. The Lexus is bulletproof, the Toyomoto kit is of the highest build quality. There are at least a dozen twin turbo SC300 track stars on ClubLexus and none have had any reliability issues with the Toyomoto kit. Oh well, I suppose it *must* be good, and it *must* be worth the money if it's a Mercedes' tuner brand . Hell, if you give me $20k, I'll make your car 75hps faster. $20k can put 900 horsepower to the wheels of my car!

 

yea but theres a fact that japanese parts cost cheaper than german car parts....so if you add everything up little by little...of course it will add up

but look at the potential buyer for an MB. these guys are not your average joe shmo, they are (usually) rich, successful men or women buying a nice car for either themselves or their children.

i think thats the reason why the kleemann is so much money. mb buyers can afford it.

 

Where'd you hear that? Got a weblink for that data? How does a Kleeman blower for the 5 liter Benz cost $17,000? Whereas a 300% more potent Vortech blower costs $3500? Are you telling me there is $13,500 in import tariffs and shipping costs for a small piece of forged metal? What about the $2000 or so you pay for a Renntech cold intake? There should be an idiot tax on all those who purchase it.

 

That is the most ridiculous arguement I've heard all day. Because I'm richer I'm more frivilous with my money???? Unless you were born into a trust fund, you got rich by being smart with your money not by throwing it away on some poor investments. So a carton of eggs and a gallon of gas should cost three to four times as much if you pull into the store in a Mercedes as opposed to a Lexus? ****, I'll take the Lexus!

 

sc, ok whatever your right.....what do you want us to say.....a lot of ppl are right, watch bet for one hour..and tell me how many s classes you see.....that are moded...and then tell me how many lexus's you see....believe me jf is right....they can afford it...look at cash money, they have so much useless stuff....but they can afford it...i mean, they even put like 9's or 10's on a golf cart, and they are chrome! And that is just a little part of there family of cars
