Hi, I wanted to post pics of my updated and upgraded new look S500 I recently had painted with the pearl gold/white color found on the newer model lexus coupes...along with GFG Trentos painted to match. The pearl color shows up much better in person and the photos dont give it much justice, however it can be seen a little on the last two pics.

 

well, i like everything except for the chrome pillars. kinda too much.

 

its ok i dont like the fenders and the sideskirt vents

 

The chrome pillars were the only thing I was concerned about and I will likely take them off when I get time. They look OK with the other chrome accents on the car and look better in person, but they are a little gaudy. I was indifferent about them at first and could take them or leave them and made a decision to put them on, but unfortunately they arent east to get off. That
3-M double-sided tape is unbeleivable. Thanks for your opinion.

 

Like the bodykit, but not a fan of the chrome pillars or the wheel style but love color match wheel though. Congrats

 

It looks great! leave it alone...If switching out the b pillars though why not go for the carbon fiber ones? wheels are a matter of personal pref. if you like'em leave'em nice work on the body color overall great modded benzo

 

definitly not the hottest w220 but it still looks pretty hott. kind ghetto looking with the chrome.

 

Thats me...a little classy... but just a little "ghetto" as well I will grow up one day !

How many of these $$$$$$$$ did you spend on paint?

 

Ken, the total cost on the paint job was around $8K, however they painted inside the engine, trunk, door jams, everything...To most people I think this would seem like a waste of money. Before, I had everything the way I wanted it...but I didnt have the color I really wanted and it ate at me. So now I am finally done dumping money into a car that I will never recoupe. And that 3-yr itch has finally been scratched.

 

Not a fan of the chrome pillars, but like Thericker said "if you like'em, leave'em. I love the color Don't see that color everyday on an S-Class, or any Benz for that matter.

Not my style, but it looks to be well executed. Something that one might see at SEMA with a crazy sound system.

I'm more of a speed freak, so would upgrade the motor/trans, e.g. RENNtech ECU motor/trans package. Remove the "S600" badge and find "S320", the ultimate sleeper.

 

Car looks great. Are the fenders lorinser?

 

Hi Shaun, they are genuine Lorinser fenders. I also have a black S430 that I was looking to put fenders on, but I am not forking out that kind of money again so I was looking at the ones on EBay, but I dont know if I can trust there not being fitment issues. But they are a helluvalot cheaper...

Thanks MrBenz55. They say overseas that white cars typically sell for less than other colors which I find baffling. White is the only way to go--so easy to keep clean and aviods paint swirling. I have always had white cars and I tried to prove to myself I wasnt set in my ways and I am open-minded to something different and got this car in brilliant silver. Just couldnt find an attraction for it, hence the paint job. I also have a black S430 and every flaw shows -- its brutal.

I was looking into the ebay ones also but was worried about the fitment issues. The lorinser fenders look great but 1800 a fender is crazy.

 

Shaun, I keep checking the feedback from some of the EBay sellers of body kits, etc to try to feel more comfortable about getting teh aftermarket fenders my black S, but still havent gotten into any comfort zone and I heard some negative things about aftermarket Lorinser kits anyway. Yep, $1800.00 per fender is acenine, ludacris, and utterly ridiculous...I must have really had tunnel vision at that time.

Sorry to let you down ShadowGriffin I thought at least the grill would get unanimous approval. I know the chrome is a little gaudy -- I will give you that one--and on same days when I look at my car I agree tht it is a little pimpish, esp with the chrome pillars.

Mark K, the lights on my S500 are Xenon...got them from a guy in Germany who used to be pretty prominent on here, but havent seen him in a while. I bought a set of Used Xenons on EBay for my black S430 as well (which werent supposed to work on a 430 model), but they dont have the auto leveling.

 

She a looker. Clean body lines. Paint is nice and the grill is bad ***. I love it. Keep on doing what you do bro. It definitely a cool whip.

 

That thing is sick dude. I think it would look better without the chrome on the door pillars and headlights but it's your car, make it yours regardless of how others feel about it.

Still a very dope car none the less.
