2003 S600 vs. 2003 E55 0-60 question

Hello, Not to beat a dead horse, I have seen all the threads about the Renntech ecu chip for 2003 S600 0-60, but for stock S600 -
which is faster - (0-60 )
stock 2003 E55 or 2003 S600?

There are quite a few numbers going around and I am confused...thanks for any help you can provide!

Factory quote for 0-60 is a tenth faster for E55, but my money would be on the S600, especially for a longer race.

You are probably right in a longer race. However there are a lot of stock E55's running in the low 12's in the quarter mile. I don't think the 600 has that kind of acceleration.

I think it's less about acceleration and more about grip/traction at the start

Dump high octane in the 600 and brake torque the mother to jumpstart turbo spool, and watch the E55 weep at triple digit speeds.

I just read another post on this forum about a S600 running in the high 11's in the quarter. I take back what I said

An S-600 is faster. They are flat out amazing in a straight line. The E will handle much better, and in general feels better to drive aggressively. I am still freaking out at the amazing acceleration of the S600 though, even after I've driven mine 1000 miles now, at 13mpg though it does get expensive. Plus the 130mph factory limiter (which takes no time at all to reach) sucks!

I can say that totally bone stock with stock tires the E55 is slightly faster due to slightly less weight and better traction. With drag radials I would say that it is virtually a dead heat between the two. I have owned both cars and my E55 ran 12.14@116 with the stock tires and 11.92@117 with a pulley/ECU upgrade. I bet with stock tires the best my S600 would have run would be around 12.3 or so.

Renntech upgrade for S600?

Stephen04E55,
Did your S600 have the renntech ecu upgrade? Other posts on this board have seemed to indicate the 0-60 on the S600 improves from about 4.7 to 4.0 with the higher boost, etc. Was wondering if you had experienced the same.
Thanks for any info!
