Grrr...Hard to find the right car!
So I was at the dealer yesterday looking for a 2003 Obsidian Black S500 4Matic with Charcoal interior. All I want is the base S500 4matic with only the 6 disc changer option. The salesperson went into the database and only found 1 in OH but had the S3 package, electronic Trunk Closer, Parktronic and S6 package. He also did a search on what is on the boat and found none. He did find a black with just the 6 disc changer at a Michigan Dealership but had the Java interior. I know I know...I'm being picky but my E320 has the java so I want the charcoal for the S500. I know the 4matics are rare for the S500 but didn't know to this extent. He said to order it would take 3-4 months. By the time 3-4 months rolls by, winter is almost over. :p There's got to be Obisidian Black with Charcoal Interior S500 4matics with just the 6 disc changer out there at the dealers! Isn't there?

I'm sure the S500 is good in the snow with ASR/ESP. I've only had it for 3 months and really hadn't have a good chance to try it in couple of inches of snow. The 2001 E320 is a 4matic and is a great winter car. Didn't know that the S was coming out with 4matic until after the purchase of the 2002. Eventhough I'm going to get hit with taxes and depreciation of the 2002 (eventhough it only has 3K miles), I have decided to go with the 2003 S500 4matic as I also like the minor facelift (headlights, tailight, LCD Display, and finally some decent looking rims).

2003 S500 4-matic, 2003 SL55
I have a 2000 S500 and in the winter the car is useless, with less than a inch of snow on the ground my car can not drive up my driveway, it is pitched almost 20degrees. I have on order a S500 4-matic and cant wait, this is the one thing that the old car really lacks.

I'd say: order the car the you want and wait 3-4 months. Winter will come again next year, right?

i personally love the G Wagon mainly because of exclusivity and in India when Benz had an agreement with a company called TATA, TATA the company made trucks called the Sumo which i get reminded of everytime i see the G Wag. Kind of bringing back old memories of the homeland lol. Also I love standing out in a crowd. Thats why i just got some Nike Cortez's in black with silver Nike Check and pink laces! lol.
