Cooling Fan doesn't turn on when hot!

2000 S500
Cooling Fan doesn't turn on when hot!
Hello everyone. I've researched the site already but wasn't successful on this problem. So here it is. I have a 2000 S500 and when the temperature dips in the 100s the fan doesn't come on. I've tested the fan by hooking it up to a battery to see if it works and it does. But assuming that it was the fan earlier in the process i've already purchased one online and it's being deliver next week. I've check the fuses in both the left and right engine compartments and found nothing, no burnt fuses. At this point i'm open to any suggestions from any experts.

check the fan regulator unit behind the fan. It's the steel box with fins on it.

behind the fan is the motor..where's the regulator?

Care to share with us what he found and how he fixed it. Kinda a slap in the face to come ask for advise, find out what it was and dont share with the rest of the family.

Problem?
Regulator was bad..ordered a new one from dealership for $200. and replaced it myself along with the new fan that i've order while trouble shooting the problem..now i have a used fan for sale, interested?
