Does the warranty cover the Mass Air flow Sensor?
60K plugs - I have read where they are good for 100K - Do you have a rough idle or loss of power?
A trustworthy independent may be the way to go as the dealer seems to want to bend you over
TSB P-27_00-47A OCT 04. A good dealer would have gotten that before the warranty had expired.
Why wouldn't your warranty cover that? It is a known failure.
TSB's (Technical Service Bulletins) are not covered for free unless by warranty...
Recall Campaigns are free services that the dealer will do to fix the problem. the dealer chooses to do so.
NHTSA recalls are where they force the manuf. to fix the probs

!! I have to check my warranty regarding the MAF sensor, but it's off the list if so. I have never seen a drop of fluid on my garage floor and the service advisor said it was a blown seal passing light fluid upon driving(minor-sounds like an add-on$$). The car runs smooth as silk so I doubt the plugs are faulty, they said they should have been changed after 5 years and claimed they are original which I believe is true. I'm sure I can at least change the air & fuel filter on my own. I do feel the sense of having a large shop(dealer) do the work and stand by it (peace of mind), but the idea of getting bent over pains me to no end. As of now, I might just have them do the MAF if it's not covered under my warranty and do the rest myself (plugs at 100K). Thoughts???

Service B results for my 02 S500:
Service B $530 - screw that, change your own oil.
Check eng lite Diagnosis $140
Mass air flow sensor (causing eng lite) $579 - ask them to clear the code to see if it comes back. If yes, probably replace.
Air Filter $127 - change it yourself
Fuel Filter $251 - might be easy, might be difficult
Spark plugs $677 - do it yourself, this is nuts!
Brake fluid flush $112 - if never done, have them do it.
13-pin connector tranny (slight leak) $181 - if no drips, have them pound sand unless they will do it under the TSB
Are you quoting a published maintenance schedule?
