Asanti Wheels - Why Not?
I don't see so many Asanti 20's out there on the site, is there a reason other than price that they are not more popular? Anyone with an S500 with pics of Asanti wheels? Just curious... I'm considering the brand in the near future. Thanks!

Regardless of what everyone is saying here I think They are gorgeous wheels. I have seen them on SL and S class mercedes but for the life of me dont have a picture. Its funny people here call them ghetto yet some of there wheels are over 100,000.00 dollars with the most expensive one being 250,000.00 dollars. There not exactly regular wheels. I do think there rarity however is due to the price. I'll pay 1/10 the price and get some AMG wheels before I pay what they want for the wheels. Dont get me wrong, there nice. Just not that nice for me.

I've got some pics. I'll post them a little later once I'm on my home computer. If you go over to the BMW forums you'll see that almost more than half of all aftermarket wheels are asantis.

Maybe its something to do with the price?
You can easily get an excellent example of a W220 here for £10k.
Are you really gonna spend £3k on Asanti wheels, when there are better looking wheels out there for less than half the price?
£3k would be like 30% ontop of what you just paid for your car, just on wheels alone.
With 2nd hand prices, it just doesnt make sense, which is probably the reason you dont see many W220's here with Asanti wheels on them.

For the same amount of money or less you can get better looking (read: less ghetto), lighter, better quality wheels.

They are in the same category as Lexani and Savini maybe even the same company. They are junk and strictly for the cover of Rides Mag. Ya dig?
As soon as I see a Benz or Bentley guy w Asantis I know they dont know wht they're doing.
As far as the 100,000 and 250,000 wheel you cant be serious -you are talking ab those diamond ones and jeweled ones right
Ok thats enough.

my take is the Asanti wheel design is more accomaditing to the 745-760 body then to the 220 body style. I actually am one of the ones who like asanti's just not for my car.

Really, I do think they just cost to much, only after market wheel I will put on my car besides AMG is also Lorinser. There Cheaper, Made for the car, and look much better IMO. Man I miss my OLD lorinser D93 wheels. Here is a pic of my First ML with them,

IMO Asanti's are nice wheels but not for all cars. I think they look good on the W221 not W220. BMW 7's and SUV's yes. Now as far as quality it's a 3 piece rim prone to cracking and bending and numerous replaced tires.

Thanks all, it was the cracking, bending, and tire replacing kinda stuff that was curious about. I would have chosen an Asanti model that was similar in design to the OE (5 spokes), but with the large dish and a 20" diameter. I happen to like the ostrich (jk)!
I'm gonna take a look at Maya wheels also and see what they have to offer in a MB kinda design.
IMO With the exception of some of their ultra-rare, six figure stuff, AMG is a little "soft" for me (sorry). If it was performance that I was seeking, I'd sooner take a regular model and have the motor pulled, blueprinted, and twin turbo'd... My C230 makes 420hp and been daily driven that way for 9 years.
(Anyhoo, hopefully none of that was offensive to anyone, sometimes I'm sarcastic... but it's just for laughs, no hard feelings. I love the site and all the cars, ghetto and otherwise. I'll take one of each)

they are just another company that thinks that you can add a vowel to the end of a made up name and the dopes who buy them think they are 'italian quality'. and yes you can see them in all the lamer car mags featured on rappers and 'celeb' cars. unfortunately there are a LOT of dumbasses out there who can afford 30k and lower cars and bring their ignorance/lack of taste [someone on another thread mentioned all the bad spelling and grammar in other threads implying the it shouldnt happen because of the type of cars here. that would be my point exactly] . most of these 'rims' are the typical over 20 inch chromed abominations with idiotic names. you know what I am talking about. maybe in time this 'trend' will end. lets hope so.

Rays Master Piece R.E.M wheels 20x8.5 ET44 and 20x9.5 ET44 appear to be about 10lbs. lighter per wheel than most others. They are also 5 spokes (like the factory wheels) and on sale at Tire Rack. Any thoughts or experience with these wheels? You guys have done a good job steering me away from Asanti... My car is a driver, not a show car. Thanks for all your help.
