I have completed all of the steps for the upgrade -including the correct pin swaps-with all of the correct parts(Thanks Chris)-There is another thread on here somewhere that has a .pdf explaining the pin swap- pretty easy. The problem i have is.... i do not have any sound? Where does the amp hook up to on the new unit? All that is now connected is the C2 plug and the Power Plug. I have a bunch of extra wires? Any assistance is much appreciated.

That's weird? so there are NO other connectors that need to be hooked up? just the repinner C2 connector and the 8pin power plug(A) I do not see any pins on C2 that would replay to the amp or the CD changer?

its 4 or 5 repins and 3 more if you want to ad aux input, i remember 2 or 3 connectors dont get used at all. navi will not work you need to get speed signal convertor from chris the swede, but steering wheel buttons will work too. chris whats the current price for the convertor?

Here is a list on what you need:

1. Upper wood panel

2. Lower wood panel

3. Comand unit A2208205889 (NOT A2208271442, Has no navi)

4. Gps antenna

5. Speed signal converter

6. Comand 2.5 and Comand 2.0 pinout so you know what to change

7. Map disc

Its not harder than this...I heard it might not work on early non DX comands. Not sure why not though.

I have done this on 2 cars now with both working perfectly..

where can I buy all this? and what to searh for to find the correct converter and gps antenna? I live in norway so i buy most car related thing on ebay. I've already bought the command unit. also i can't seem to find the wooden panels either

SPEED ADAPTER rePIN needs.

I have a 2 part Question for Nick the Sweed: Does this link have the correct info: http://www.mercupgrades.com/COMAND+FAQ-faq-1.html#27
1. Is there a PIN out difference for a EURO Comand 2.0 and a EURO one for their respective C1 & C2 Pin numbers & usage?
2. I have the need to add a backup camera to my North American Comand 2.0 (after re-PIN) from my 2002 2.5 Comand unit, but the only company I know of that makes a backup camera adapter is called ******* & what they do is give you a C1 harness for their adapter to the 2003 2.0 unit but it is already re-PINed but, the SPEED ADAPTER has its' own instructions asking me to take from the C1 (2 wire) to 11 (C2) & C1 (1 wire) to C2 (12 wire) & (C1 6 wire) to (C2 - 2 wire) & (C1 - 5 wire) to (C2 - 5 wire). Can I make this work by soldering link wires from these C1 to C2 locations but keep all originally placed wires from the C1 ******* harness in its' original place, so the backup camera option will work. (also note: that ******* had me send to them my 2003 Comand 2.0 to activate my blank button (in Euro version is TV button) so it will function like a TV button and allow images onscreen for my backup camera. It seems like, if I can't loop link wires to existing wires, I will either have a working '03 2.0 NAV or a backup camera, but NOT both! Nick, any thoughts on this? I have a 2002 S430 US car - FYI.
Thx, Ken

Is there a difference for Europe PIN outs vs. North American Pin outs for C1 & C2 harness PIN numbers-to-wire allocations for 2002/2.5 & 2003/2.0 S430 comand units?

Does this site have the most accurate PIN locations for each?
please click here: http://www.mercupgrades.com/COMAND+FAQ-faq-1.html#27

I ask because are so many various diagrams on the internet - I don't know which one to be accurate.

Are you saying we can add a backup camera to the blank button on our USA command systems ?

If so please do a separate thread on it!! I'd love to keep my stock command screen but add a backup camera

Google *******.com then find your make year and car model & you'll find the adapter for your Comand units backup camera adapter. Note: for some Comands you'll need to send them your unit to then so they can activate your TV button. All in not cheap $425 for adapter, $60 to ship you unit to them. The activation & return shipping is included. Also know they are slow if a part is on back order... I waited 3 months - ouch. Ask to speak to Eddie most reliable on the phone.

Also you still need to get a backup camera ($100 - $145 depending on features. Hope this helps... Good luck!

The only missing info is: The location of the (+) positive power (and) (-) negative power for the CD Changer. I have a 2002 S430 and will be replacing the 2.5 Comand with a 2003 2.0 Comand. I know you aren't familiar with backup camera adapters, but the company that makes it for a 2.0 Comand instructs me to add to "their supplied Pre-wired C1 Harness" the ( + - power from the CD Changer), this is why I'm asking you if you know where those 2 wires are for the 2.5 comand. Thanks, Ken

Where are the + - power for '02 CD Changer...

I see the CD Changer goes to 2.0 2003 COMAND (looks like the 7 & 8 pin on the C1, or the bottom right + - for power from the CDC). My question is where are those + - power for the CDC on the back of the 2002 2.5 + - CDC power located so I can bring them into the C1 for the 2.0 CDC location on the C1 harness. Might you know where they are located on my 2002 S430 2.5 COMAND, please?

PS: I have everything else listed below.
