My Comand 16x9 facelift retrofit on my S55 AMG.
Before the swap..
Old AC console..
First remove this tray...
Then just losen the center panel softly..
Take out the old Comand..Trim the inside panel a bit..
Move some pins in the C2 conector and add the speed signal adapter, gps antenna and put the new Comand and wood palens in place..
Mount the new AC panel with matching chrome rings..Plug n play..
All in place..All working..
New AC with the chromerings..
What you think od the swap in my S55 AMG ?? (The AMG emblem is removed now.) I just LOVE the swap and HATE the old look...

My used parts sources over here..I actually have a extra set laying around here... They are rare so I could not pass on the deal for a extra set..

Nice work.
Would you mind to tell us how you did the electrical adaptions and how you got the speed signal in the Comand unit?
Cheers, Frank

Yes your right..And the converter..A new gps antenna.
The BIG problem with this before has been the absense of the converter.
Here is a list on what you need:
1. Upper wood panel
2. Lower wood panel
3. Comand unit A2208205889 (NOT A2208271442, Has no navi)
4. Gps antenna
5. Speed signal converter
6. Comand 2.5 and Comand 2.0 pinout so you know what to change
7. Map disc
Its not harder than this...I heard it might not work on early non DX comands. Not sure why not though.
I have done this on 2 cars now with both working perfectly..

I have the Bose system in mine with no wires at all to the speakers so yes that will work and no re-wireing is nessecary. Also works fine with cars without bose and wires of course.
You got PM on the adapter and antenna.

Haha it costs money man, and for the grand you'll spend its almost as sensible to upgrade to a third party system. Exactly my plan when I get the moola...

Just that third party looks soooo bad, cheap and missplaced than the original look. I would never do that..And the re-wire work you have to do for the bose system..Damn what much work..And the Comand unit is going down in price and is not that expensive anymore..
