MY NEW COMAND NTG 2.5 project in 2000 W220 car.

This is my next big project..After installnig the Comand NTG 2.5 with bluetooth and built in hardrive and DVD changer in my wifes pre- facelift W203 I JUST MUST HAVE this comand in my S55...
As you can see here:
This upgrade works for models 1999-2003.
The comand it self almost fits directly...It is just the upper corners that is a bit wider. I am going to laser cut those corners so the comand fits perfectly...
Here you can see with a Audio 20 unit with same shape how "good" it fits unchanged...Just those upper corners..

To be continued....

From the Nav picture it seem you are located at the MB HQ site. Are you MB Staff ?
Which Command unit are you using ? Are the D2B fibers reusable ?
I thought about a A230 command and modifying the upper panel instead (C215 MY 04 in this case)
Cheers, Frank.

The unit is from the new CLC..Do you have dimensions of the R230 unit how it fits and what must be cut?
I am tesing my CLC unit in a short time to see if it all works..Dont know if the speed signal will work on it since the new unit takes it over can bus and I am not sure if W220 do that or cable wise.
Oh..And I think you have a AGW in your facelifted C215 and dont think a NTG 2.5 works in it..

Since i have not had a Comand NTG2.5 available for testing i have only lots of assumptions.
The new comand has integrated some functions like AGW, BT phone & VCO. If its compatible with the interieur CAN bus as well as with the remaining soundsystem & CD Changer, i have no idea.

(At least my fiber optics would be feasible)
