If you can find a set, you might want to snap them up; there aren't many available.
1) "C" nav was used in early production MY 2000 W220s, and the last CD set for "C" nav, Q 6 46 0191, was updated in 2004. "C" nav discs are NO LONGER UPDATED.
2) "D" nav discs are used in later production MY 2000 W220s, and were also used through the 2003 model year (yes, including the wide screen COMAND MOPF). "D" nav discs are still being updated - at least, they were through 2010. You can no longer order them through NavTeq, but you can get them through the dealer. You should be able to get current "D" nav CDs for your '03. Check with your dealer for the date of the last release he has, and see if you can get the time frame for the next release (probably February 2011, but there is no guarantee). The last "D" nav CD set I am aware of was Release 2/10 and part number was Q 6 46 02473. There may have been a newer release; I don't really track the CD set releases. A newer release would have a higher part number. If you come across newer information, I am sure members would appreciate knowing.
NOTE: The changeover from "C" to "D" nav occurred in November 1999, but I do not know the exact date. The placard in the driver's door frame provides your date of manufacture. It is also possible, if you have an MY 2000 W220, that its COMAND unit has been replaced; therefore, you should always use the simple check at post #2, https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...257-d-nav.html to see which system is actually installed in your car.
3) MY 2004 and later W220s use DVDs, which are updated (approximately) annually. These are still available through NavTeq as well as the dealer. However, if you skip several years of nav updates with DVD systems, you may need the dealer to install an interim nav system update. The explanation as to why is lengthy, so I won't repeat it here. See post 12 at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/audi...de-mode-2.html
4) There are different disc sets covering several different groupings of Mercedes models. Check the NavTeq compatibility list for your model year on the NavTeq site (or even the box for the disc you now have) to see which models share the same disc set. Each type of disc is updated only once a year (approximately), but the updates are released at different times of the year. Therefore, a dealer receives updates "several times a year" but the disc for your car is only updated annually. The update for the W220 usually appears somewhere between November and February. For example, a November, 2010 release would be the 2011 update (as would a February 2011 release).
5) You can check the NavTeq site to see when a new disc has been released (by version number; at the time of this post, the current W220 DVD is v.10) but NavTeq does not provide the date of release on the site. The dealership can correlate the NavTeq disc designation with its release date. There is absolutely no difference between a DVD obtained from NavTeq and one obtained from a dealer. However, if you have skipped updates and require an interim nav system update, the dealer will ordinarily install it free if you purchase from him; he may charge you if you bought from NavTeq.

Unfortunately, the site that was the source of that list has not been updated for years, and is not even available anymore (I used to refer to it frequently).

This is what i am looking for and i just C/P all that info off a web site i found in searching for what i am looking for. Thanks for the update on the other disk part #'s.
Here is how to check for someone who comes to the forum and can't find it somewhere else: Press the Detour ( “ DETR” ) button on the COMAND upper-right keypad. The C navi has only the “Traffic Jam” option. The D navi has both the “Traffic Jam” as well as the “Detour in Route” option.
Mine shows both detour and traffic jam. The traffic jam option can't be selected. I guess no traffic jam or traffic jam subcription has expired. Car is 2003.
According to posts above, 2010 release is for 2011 use. I may go ahead and order the 2010 version, the latest available right now. I will need cd#2 for my WA state driving. Anyone need to other CDs, let me know.
