What car did you come from when you got your W220?
Just wanted to see what cars folks had before they bought there w220's. I had several cars but the 2 cars before I bought my s430 were these right here.

2000 CLK 430 cabriolet we wrote off in a T-bone accident. I really miss that beauty but my wife wanted to be in a larger (safer?) Mercedes

Not a replacement, but a spare grocery getter I bought from my father... but I lover to drive it daily better than my Carrera S. In fact my Porsche doesn't come out until Sat rolls around.

Sold a beat-to-death '02 ML430 and a drop-dead gorgeous '79 240D for my '05 S55. Although I had a tear in the eye as the diesel drove away, I jumped for joy at dumping the ML! Add a little cash and I upgraded to an AMG in need of just a little TLC, which is what I wanted. Think I did OK. No regrets.

2007 CLS550
My first Mercedes was an '08 E350 with AMG sport package. Bought it around 10/1/2010. It replaced at 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP with manual transmission. Loved the GXP, but the quality of the E350 was just in another league, and the E350 was a good bit cheaper. Handling was better too. The old, 90 degree V6 gets a little rough with high rpm, and it doesn't have a whole lot of character. So, I replaced it with an '07 CLS550 around 3/1/2011. Missed the E350 immediately, for some reason, though. I still have and love the CLS550, but got my '06 S500 around 10/15/2011 (the CLS550 is a bit cramped). I love the S500, but the 5.5L V8 in the CLS550 is a huge leap from the 5.0L V8 in the S500. The CLS550 is so much faster (it's only 150lbs lighter), and the motor is so much more soulful. Really a gem. I would love a W220 with the 5.5L motor. I guess I wouldn't mind having all 3, the '08 E350, '07 CLS550, and '06 S500, but I will probably sell the CLS550 too and keep the S500 for a while and eventually hope to replace it with a W221 S63. I have definitely fallen for Mercedes, that's for sure, even if I can't decide which one suits me best.
