Blower Motor Replacement Procedure
HI All,
I just purchased 2004 S500 4Matic. I used to own S430 4Matic and loved it to come back to MB.
My Blower Motor is making screeching noise and need replacement. Can someone give me detailed procedure to replace the blower motor?
Thank you.

basically crawl under the passenger side dash, remove the underdash covers with a screw driver, locate blower motor, remove the few screws holding it in, undo the regulator, replace, and reverse to install.

The diagrams at http://www.mercedestechstore.com/pdf...2010-30-02.pdf (one of which covers the blower motor) might help.

Same issue with my 2004 S500 got a quote of 800.00 for just the blower thru dealer.
I hope it will last a while. I think what happened was the drain was clogged under the
hood and water came in thru the glovebox which got the blower wet.

Mine was clogged with just sand.. If I hadn't known to check it from this site I would have thought it was normal.. Really had to look at it with a bright light.
I've had the car 3 months and do love it.. I had to drive a new S550 4matic "1200 miles" from florida a few weeks ago and that car was very nice but I didn't mind going back to mine at all. Didn't like the tiny auto shifter on the new car though..

A blower motor which is squealing, but still works, can usually be saved by simple cleaning and lubricating. I am old enough that I enjoy fixing something, rather than replacing it. The money saved is a bonus...
