2003 s430 closing assist pump

2003 s430 closing assist pump

my drivers door doest suck in, but all others do, is that normal and if not how to fix it, thanx.

When the door is shut to where it should suck in do you hear an air sound coming from the door?

no i do not hear it on the drivers door, but i do on all other doors and it does suck it in.

The same thing happened to my passenger door a couple of weeks ago...if you don't hear what OCKlasse described, then i think it's not a leak but the closing assist pump that is gone.

No that's not it the module behind the switch to seats is going bad had problem 2 weeks ago. must replace the seat switch/module on that door cheapest i found $384 plus shipping mercedesbenzparts.com

what you could do is disconnect the yellow 20 amp fuse located under the rear passenger seat (same as disconnecting the battery, but you won't have to re-sync your windows and sunroof) and look if the closing assist then works. if it does, then you'll know you have a leak (but don't repeat this process too often or you'll end up burning your pump).

If this doesn't work then you'll know that your pump is out (but i doubt it cause i think there's is only one pump for all the doors/trunk and the other doors are working, right?) or what la22bay said needs to be replaced.

But to be honest with you, we've been 'completely' closing doors all our lives, sure it's a nice feature, but i doubt it's worth paying a large sum of money to repair it..just my 2cents
