S211; Electrics going haywire

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and hope to find some sparring partners to help with my 211-woes. The car has been a nightmare since an hour after we bought it but, this last stunt is just too much;

The car will start and run but I have flashing lights both inside and outside and beeping from the cluster. Please see video here:

This car has other issues also but I'm going to concentrate on this one as it is a real showstopper!

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Kind regards,
Bard Thomas

Hi,
It is not an S class. I just put S211 as this is an Estate car, not a saloon. Estates don't seem to be listed among the covered models...

I thought I was in the E class section when posting. I'm just learning how this forum works. Sorry!

Hi,
So, we figured out the reason for these issues; After giving the battery a thorough charging, the issues went away.

Having said that, I will have to check the reason for the battery voltage being so low. The battery is just a couple of months old...

Just to let you know...

Kind regards,
Bard

Unless you've driven a good bit since charging the battery I think you have an issue with your alternator or voltage regulator. When you saw the funky behavior I think your vehicle may have been running off the battery (which was low) instead of the alternator as it should be.

Seven Out,
You may be right. This car has been devouring batteries as long as we've had it. We had to override the connection original connection for the sound system, which helped a lot but there may be more causes for power leakage.

Regards
Bard
