Air Condioning wont turn on.
Showed me how the blower was "seized up"..........etc. I did not believe the BS.
Got home, opened the blower housing under the hood, put a DROP of engine oil on the top of the blower shaft, where there was a minor bit of salt dust corrosion. Half a hour later wiped off the oil drop, and everything has worked fine since

You can try just recharging it with a can of Freon and it may get the Freon pressure high enough to turn the compressor back on . But sometimes it requires computer reset
'Just a little low' can probably be 'fixed' by adding some more that has a 'leak detecting dye' and 'seal conditioner' in it. The R-134 refrigerant leaked out somewhere---most likely past the compressor shaft seal. The 'leak detecting dye glows brightly when under ultraviolet light.
If the system is near or completely empty, further diagnosis to locate and repair the LEAK is necessary. Time for a good A/C tech to diagnose and repair and recharge the system.

It is both illegal and dangerous to release refrigerants into the atmosphere by just depressing a refrigerant valve core, and I do not believe that depressing a valve core will give you any idea about how much refrigerant the system contains - unless it is virtually empty.
Air conditioning techs STRONGLY urge you to NOT put any refrigerant containing any type of sealant into your system.
You can purchase R-134a in a can that is equipped with a gauge, and this can give you a rough idea about how much refrigerant the system contains, but is highly unlikely that using one will get you to anything very close to the correct amount. It is not difficult to service your own system, but you will need a set of gauges, eye protection, and some study so you know what you are doing...

Taking the compressor off in the pull-a-part yard was a valuable learning experience. It also helped that I have a vacuum pump and gauge set.

TBH, I don't really remember now what I used to plug the hoses - I just automatically plug AC hoses. I have a box full of different plugs and caps...
