I have enjoyed looking at the pictures that others have put up during the months of waiting, so here is my contribution. It certainly is pretty!

I've been collecting images for months now to get an idea of which color I liked best. Last Saturday I ordered "Obsidian Black/Black" (like my CLK500, almost). I then went home and deleted all images except for those of "Obsidian" S550s.
But I couldn't bring myself to delete the "Barolo" images. Now I know why. I still haven't decided!

I suppose dealers always say things like this about whatever car you are buying, but everyone in the showroom said this was the most striking S550 they had seen.
My tendency to think about the "non-standard" colors comes from my father-in-law who bought a turquiose 1994 W140. You never would have picked it from a catalog, but it was the most beautiful car our family ever had. When I brought it to my town after it was 8 years old with 80,000 miles, I still had several people stop me in parking lots and ask if they could just sit in it. For me, there is something about being just a little different than the standard black. (Well, and I still have a black Navigator, so I've done the black car thing, and I'm also tired of trying to keep it clean...)
But I know everyone has to do their own thing, and I still would not have changed my choice of the black Navigator. I think you have to do the black car at least once in your life...

It looks like you figured out how to post photos. To get info on the rest go to the Forum Questions & Help forum. Ricky has a "sticky" there on "How Tos" that might help you some. Also, go to top of the page and click "User CP" or "Quick Links" for other stuff.
