Thinking about getting an S550 (lease payment?)

Hello, I am writing this for my father since he is looking into the possibility of leasing an S550 within the next few months. His current lease is ending I believe in July - 03 Lexus SC430 that he currently pays $865/MO (0 down). My mother had a 03 MB S430 that was just replaced two weeks ago with a 2006 CLS 500. The car had a $73,500 msrp and we leased it for $1100 including tax, 0 down 12k year 39 months.

The problem is my mother really wanted another S class. She loves the size of the S class and feels she has bad visibility in the CLS (shes 4'10"). Also we really need another 5-seat car. What they would like to happen is move the CLS to my father and my mom would lease a new S550. The only reason why she did not get the S550 originally instead of the CLS was because of the price. The car that we really need would be an S450 since it would fit our budget accordingly. Does anyone know if this car is coming out in the near future? Anyhow my dad is willing to lease a base S550 if he can get it for around $1300 a month. Is this realistic? Can someone please advise me on what base S550s are leasing for and if the S450 will be on the market this summer?

Thank you,

Stuart Mellman.

S450 probably more than 1 year away. Should be a ble to make the S550 work in your lease range though.

7k down . That would be a horrible move financially even for someone who could easily afford an S550. My father has been speaking with one dealership that is expecting a base S550 due next week. They seem to be willing to work with us, the car is silver/tan.

I don't know where you are located but check out Glauser MB in Denver, CO. A large stock of S550, with a good number of base + a few add ons. They ship nationwide and are great to work with. Call Greg Weiler at 866-711-0492.

My dealer mentioned that S450s were going to be available by the end of summer. I don't know how valid/accurate is this information.

I think the latest I have seen that by 2008 which would mean fall 2007 for the S450, but anything is possible. I think MB will show it when the sales figures on the S550 reflect a need for more volume in the S model line.

I have been quoted $1670's for a S550 with AMG pack, keyless go, electroninc trunk closer, rear side window shades, and heated steering wheel. i believe the MSRP was $95,200 with gas guzzler and freight for 39 months with 15K'year.

I had my dad call the salesman last night in Denver that Nevada jack recommended. I originally was going to ship my car out for the summer to Colorado (Infiniti G35) but now my dad is telling me to hold off since the deals out in Colorado are much better then in south Florida. Greg pretty much said that the car we want either a base or P1 package would lease for 39 months, 12k year nothing down except first payment would be about 1450 including tax. My dad told him that his budget was allocated for 1300 including tax. Greg mentioned that when we are there at the end of the month in June they want to move out cars and said he should be able to work with my father on meeting the 1300 including tax. Now I was not listening in on the phone call so do not quote me on anything.

We currently have a Subaru outback out in Colorado at our vocation home but will need two cars out there this summer since we will be staying for seven weeks. I was looking forward to shipping my modified Infiniti G35 to carve up the mountains but I certainly would not mind cruising around in an S550.

Glad you made contact with Greg in Denver and everything works out for you. Glauser is now a Sponsor on the forum and is an excellent contact. Those mountains curves provides some nice driving for the S550...I drove mine from Denver to Las Vegas and enjoyed every minute of it.

Thanks for the contact jack. Hopefully by the end of summer I can take some pictures of an S550 next to the CLS.

A salesman from MB of Orlando contacted my father today asking him what price range my father could do. When my father told him $1300 the salesman thought it was a joke. My father told him we were going to get the car out in CO this summer since the deals were much better. The salesman said that would be a good idea. The FL market is absurd, way too much wealth in such a small area.

I am almost positive the CLS we acquired this mouth could of easily been $100 less a month in another demography.

Anyway I drove my mothers CLS today and I love it.
