..but if we are correct then the vendor is possibly a fellow member of this forum..

 

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I just contacted eBay and the seller via email. It really takes gall to not only use one image but the entire spread of my car to sell god knows what at an asking bid of $68K. I guess I am going to start using a watermark on my images to protect them from being used by creeps like this.

He has 2 reviews of his sales and they look like they were written by him.

 

That was a ballsy attempt by him. One helluva disclaimer too. But you have to admit, he used the right S550 for it. Too bad he didn't know about your sig pic right now, I like that pic the best. He also used that sweet ambient lighting pic you posted a while ago.

 

Yeah Asian...he selected the best images from my website...:-) I hope eBay gets on him fast.

 

This guy listing my car on eBay must be a fraud. On the Description he lists the car as used and shows the mileage as 818. If you look at the pictures he posted, the one of the dash display show my mileage at the time I shot the picture being 818! If he had another vehicle really for sale he would not post my mileage but that of what "his" car really had.

Also his payment procedure is suspect wanting full payment by negotiable funds and then he will provide a title and shipping data. The whole deal I think is

I messaged him "So why is it you are trying to sell my friends car on Ebay?" and naturally no reply. Oh well it was funny. Gutsy thats for sure.

Reading this guy's ad i'd be hard pressed to believe English was his first language. (Excluding the rest that's obviously copied and pasted)

I've been a lurker here for a couple of years and finally decided to register since I hate eBay scammers. Anyway I Googled the VIN he listed and it came up with a car available at Park Place Motorcars in Dallas.

Welcome Bad Boy...I see that VIN # is for a New S550 at that dealer in Dallas. This guy is really gathering info from all over to run his scam.

 

I reported it to ebay as soon as I saw the first post last night. Surprised to still see it being up

 

WOW....... he he. member since yesterday and already sold / delivered one car. thats the fastest service ever I got an idea! LETS BID UP his auction , "BUY" the car for 500K and make him pay teh commission to ebay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I just tried to place a bid but apparently you have top be "pre-approved" by the seller.
I just sent him an email and am waiting to see if he responds.
I guarantee that this is a total scam but I would like to bid up the price anyway.

 

I think the dealer in Dallas has the car at $94K or so. Keep us advised as to your progress. I would have thought eBay would have had the images taken down by now but I guess they have hundreds or maybe thousands of this kind of thing going on.

 

I also just sent ebay a fraud alert concerning the seller. I have gone through this type of scenario before with someone in NJ, which eBay eventually shut down.
I still can't believe someone on this site would do this to you. He/She needs to crawl back under the rock they came from.

EBay makes a lot of money from a lot of small unhappy transactions. If you have lost a few thousand dollars, you might go the extra mile to recover it. But if you lost $50 or $20 you may never be able to prove your case, and in the meantime, eBay has gotten the listing fee and the closing fee on that transaction.

Just got an email from the seller of the auction "approving" me to bid which I just did and am currently the high bidder. I am curious to see how this plays out

I noted that even at the initial bid of $68.5K the reserve was met, which further raises questions.

Just called parkplace in TX and they know nothing about the eBay ad. Their car doesn't even have the sport pkg while the eBay ad sporting your pics does.

It sure is getting stinkier by the minute.

 

I went to their site about 2:00PM and sent the Sales Dept. a email explaining the situation and also the URL. Probably sitting in someone's in basket...:-)

 

Certainly took them long enough.
