The manual says something about when you get out of the car, with the keys, you just touch the door handle again and it will lock, the same as when u touch the door handle to unlock it...... i tried this and it didnt work....

there should be a little rubber square on the right side of the door handle. press that. grabbing the handle only unlocks it. pressing the square will lock the doors. at least thats how it was on the previous S-Class keyless go.

Is your keyless go on? If I remember right there is a hidden switch that can disable/enable it.

Note that on the 2007 S550, keyless-go no longer uses a physical button on the door handles. Instead, you will see the outline of a square on the handle that is actually a touch sensor...

I think most owners, myself very much included, took a while to change the old mindset we had where we would grab the door handle and use our thumb to press the square black button to lock the door as with all previous incarnations on Mercedes Keyless Go.
The manual should clarify that gripping the door handle inevitably tells the system to unlock, thus nullifying our attempts to lock the doors by pressing the square body colored touch sensor with our thumbs. Now I use my index finger to give the sensor a poke when ever I leave the car, which works just fine.
