Zanio! Should come with a Health Warning!

While chatting with you guys today I have been applying the complete Zanio system today to a BRAND NEW Capri Blue AMG! Why I would do this to a car that is days old, could only be explained by the outrageous passion I have for my S and all the S's prior to this one. I love my car so much that I have kissed it! Yes it's true. Well... enough about my perversions. Let's talk Zanio.

1. I washed my car w/ Dawn twice.

2. did the baggy test which passed as smooth as silk so I skipped the Clay procedure. Note- I have a year old C230 which I used as a control car. The C's paint felt like sandpaper w/ the baggy test.

3. Mixed and applied the Z5... waited 1 hour and buffed with my $30 towels

4. Sprayed down the car with Z6 and buffed again with $30 100% cotton towels.

5. Now, I just applied the Z2 and am waiting to buff.

Right now I cannot tell you guys wether the Zanio is superior to my old Zymol premium carnuba wax (Which I love) applications... It's hard to judge anything after the near cardiac arrest & Nausea the Zanio process induces. Furthermore, Clean/Wax/Polish/Buff anything 5 times in one day and it has to look great. So, for you older guys... beware of hurting yourself while applying the Zanio system.

All kidding aside... I will give you guys my conclusions in the next couple of days.

I have the same story with my Jetta. I used to buff the car with a makita buffer and then put on the Zymol (man that stuff is good), and this past week I put the Zaino on. I thought that a few of the products actually smelled good, but it is overpowering. I am not sure which I like better because since I have put it on it has been very bad weather by me and my car is all dirty. I think the Zaino give the car an amazing shine, but if you have clear coat scratches you need to pull out the buffer and get to work Hopefully you post some pics!

Getting caught up in the marketing hype!!!

Yeah!!!! I know... you don't have to rub my nose in it!!! I have been reading all the detailing forums talking about overspray, rail dust, etc... so I checked. Believe me, waxing also seems nuts but I decided that protecting the finish I have today is the way to go.

Nothing wrong with claying a new car. Remember, the car is shipped from a port, and in most cases on an open car carrier. Cars can pick up a ton of sand/dirt/debris while in transport.

Let us know what you think of Zaino...I might go for it.

I just had a quick question. When applying the Z-5 product, do you just want to smear it on, or is it one of those products you want to work into the paint? Same question for the Z-2.

It just rained pretty good in my area, first time since applying the Zaino, and I noticed a huge difference in how it causes water beading. I used to use Zymol Creme, and it did a great job lasting, however with regards to water beading I have to give the victory to Zaino. My car is black, and after the rain I walked out from my class and the car looked dark grey because of all the uniform water beads covering the whole car. I have never seen anything like it, and then when I started driving at a certain speed you heard a 'wooshing' noise (like water in a water bottle), and it all just spread right off the car. kinda neat

Hi Guys,

It's been a couple of days since my Zaino app. on my S550. I think overall the Zaino stuff is a tuff coating which beads water like nothing I've seen... I have not concluded wether it shines any more or less than my Zymol Titanium Carnuba Wax. I am having trouble hand buffing the Z2 out... it leaves streaks in my blue paint.

I will tell you guys that I Zaino clayed my White 05 C230 (like sandpaper w/ the baggie test) yesterday and was floored by the total gloss that was restored. Like Glass!

Are you using the ZFX accelerator with the Z2?

Zaino ROCKS!! I used it for the three years I owned my S500 and of course now it's on my S550! The stuff lasts forever, one time I went almost a year without re-applying and the water was still beading like it was a fresh coat.

I wash the car every 1-2 weeks and follow up with a dose of Z-6 spray, you just spray it on and buff it off with a towel (I use high-end microfiber detailing towels, sounds like you've got yourself some good ones too). Every now and then I'll splurge and use the Z-8 spray after a wash. Using the spray after every wash is important as it re-applies a thin coating of Zaino and that's why I still have a tough coat after a year.

One tip that I found gets an extremely brilliant finish: After hand buffing the Z2 Pro off, I put a wool pad and a microfiber bonnet on my Porter-Cable orbital buffer. I put it on low speed (2), spritz it with Z-6 spray, and go over the entire car, re-wetting the pad with Z-6 as necessary. This results in a MUCH deeper and wetter finish than you can get by hand only! Totally worth the $150 for the buffer to do this.
