Yes it is, but John I thought you already posted this a few days ago in the other thread. And yes, it looks great and I do like the lights. My next W221 will be a one year old S65 with very low miles. Let somebody else take the HIT.

Per AMG Private Lounge chat w/US mgmt last wk or so, 65s will be around indefinitely

AMG has invested R&D for 65Blk...and Maybach Zeppelin has an extra ~30hp

Wouldn't be surprised if '10 65 has ~30 extra hp and more debugging

Bent keeps adding hp to various Speeds and such; VW talks of using Veyron motor in future VW products (sunk R&D costs need to be spread among more units for both profits and debugging)

Know at least 6 colleagues ordering '10 CL65s (incl one pal who's getting '10 CL65 and '10 SL65 as his daily commuter choices, w/a Scud Spider for wkends)...and many w/kids who are addicted to S65s as kid-haulers...and these guys get new 65s every 6-12mos

Seems like AMG understands that demand for new V12s is rather deep in places like SiliconValley/BevHills/Greenwich...and rest of US, where 65s are fairly cheap and daily-enjoyable vs our pals in Frankfurt/Munich/London

Thats good news WSH - though I assume this will be a continuation of the existing (M275/M285) TT V12 and not an entirely new engine design? (The M295 that news/rumor said had been cancelled) No reason why not of course - it seems hard to improve on the current engine unless there is some hard to see breakthrough in weight and fuel efficiency. The current design is well tested, development costs must be sunk by now, and there are plenty of reserves in the design as AMG keep proving. (Still seems the transmission is more a gating factor than the potential power of the engine) All they have to do is keep the assembly line open.

And I certainly hope those weird rumors about the engine bay of the next generation S-Class being to small for the length of a V12 are incorrect.

That certainly looks like the new (2010?) S class. I really like the side view mirrors. Looks like they also took a cue from Wald/Brabus as far as front apron styling. They've also jumped on the LED band wagon (as can be seen with the head light units.)...... I wonder what the side badge near the front fender says since it looks like a stock 550

I can't wait to see what the AMG version looks like especially the wheels.

I'm glad to see other than the slight modifications its a very minor update.
I've got 27k miles on mine and two years left it will be paid off. I'm really going to try to keep this car for the LONG term. Hopefully the design will be timeless. Unless the 2013 is incredible, I just don't see spending another $150k when this car is so good. If I'm fortunate enough to be able to spend $150k in two years after the S is paid for, I see a used 430 spyder in my future. If I can be patient. Red/tan

I was thinking the same thing after my S550 is paid off. A 12-18 month old S65.

I think they look horrible. have you seen them on the '09 W204? First time I saw them I thought they were aftermarket.

Is it just my eyes playing tricks on me or is the actual shape of the headlight housing different? It seems like the top rear section is kind of lopped off from the current car...

I like it though..

For some reason I like them on the W204 (we have one), but I'm not sure I like them on the W221. I think it is because the W204 has squared off features throughout the body style of the car , whereas, our W221s have more rounded features and the square mirrors conflict with that.

My dealer showed me the list last week, all pretty minor. He also had some limited info on the S420 and the US S class diesel.

One thing I did notice on the AMG pics (that irieblue posted) is that the front and rear aprons have a slightly bevelled edge that gives the the aprons a framed in look.... not sure how that would look live....
