S550, Bluetooth and Verizon Blackberry Tour

Hello,

I have an 08 S550 that includes the Bluetooth option. While I am able to connect both my previous 8830 and now my Verizon Tour, the console says, "No Telephone Inserted." Is there yet another module I have to purchase?

If so, is there a link to the order form?

Thank you,

Kevin

I have same car and same phone, mine works fine with no additional pieces. I think you have a clitch. Sometimes you turn it off and back on or even unplug the adapter to work proberly.

Same here... no problems at all with a same set up.
Just a shot in the dark but....
I have had some connection issues when I had a phone connect to the bluetooth. Once I reset everything and now have a bluetooth connect to the phone, 0 problems.

Hmmmm, so you are saying, if you have the Bluetooth option and this phone, all should work fine. Wow, don't know what else to do. They connect because it says, "Kevins Blackberry" as registered in the car. I'll play with it some more. Thanks.

Yup,
I was able to pair it without any issues.
As mentioned earlier, something went wrong during my initial install. Basically, my phone would connect maybe 50% of the time. So, I reset everything and did another install, 0 problems since.
One thing to keep in mind, your car may be recognizing the phone as a bluetooth device, nothing more. This is why you cannot use it if its not paired.
I would have MB look for a bluetooth device, once it finds it, click to pair the device. Your phone should prompt you to enter a passcode. its MBUSA (62872)

I hope this make sense.

I have been able to pair the two devices, even transfer the contacts!! Under details it says that it is available. But when I go to the Telephone tab, it says, "No telephone inserted."

I just don't know what to do.

which model Puck do you have? sometimes the pucks go bad. my understanding is that if you bought the puck with the purchase of the car it carries the same warranty as the car. if you did not buy it with the car, then it only has a 1 year limited warranty (per my parts dept).

Not sure what you mean by, "puck." All I know is that I have the Premium package and that it contains Bluetooth. It definitely sees the phone, prompts for the code, which I then enter into both. It then says it was successful. I can transfer contacts, etc, but under the telephone tab it says, "Telephone not inserted." I have deactivated, reactivated, 5-6 times, always the same.

Thanks,

Kevin

No Teplehone Inserted on S550 & Blackberry Tour

Hi Kevin, did you find a solution for your issue? Yesterday I tried pairing the blackberry tour from Verizon to an S550. The pairing went successful. Was even able to transfer contacts from the blackberry to S550. But whenever I go to Telephone, it says "No Telephone Inserted" Do I need to do any other step other than pair the phone to the car?

Thanks.

No, I have never been able to make it work. To be honest, I gave up. My dealer suggested their might be an S550 firmware upgrade, but I never heard back.

Customer care at MBUSA, told me today that there is an adapter that needs to be purchased. It's called a "Puck". Here's the part number B67875878 and website www.wireless4mb.com. Hope this helps.

Interesting. I think it is insane that it costs over $500 to make this work.

You have conflicting statements, you said your previous phone works if that is true that means you already have the puck. If you do not have the puck, well there is your answer you need to purchase it and the newest part# is 6-7-87-6131 If you do have a bluetooth module eject it and check out what part# you have there could be

6-7-87-5839 Gen1
6-7-87-5878 Gen2
6-7-87-6131 Gen3

This should be on the back of the module in the center console top partition. This will give you an idea of how old the software is on the module. Here are some steps that could help you get it working.

1. Do a carrier update call your cell carrier and see if there are any updates on the phone.

2. Remove the battery from the phone and reboot the phone. This sounds stupid, but this has worked for me in the past usually with black berry phones though.

3. Have service do the telematics update which will give you real time traffic and some other updates.

4. If you have an older module 6-7-87-5839 if your dealer has the flash tool they can update the software with the newer version that has the most phone compatibility. I have the oldest one and had this done and was able to use it with my iphone 3GS which did not work without the new software.

I have addressed your issue elsewhere. Look it up under my name {bking}.
