Possible to get extended dealer warranty on 2007/2008's?
So being a big Mercedes newbie, is there something like this available? If there are threads specifically dedicated to this, please link?
A dealer or other vendors, some on the forum, can sell an aftermarket warranty if you want to go that way.

If you buy a non CPO car from authorized MB dealer you cannot get extended warranty for that car, even if that car has a remaining factory warranty leftover.

When you buy a non-CPO used car from MB dealer and even it has a remaining factory warranty they not wish to sell a extended warranty for that car.Their assumption is that it didn't pass the CPO qualification tests and the MB dealer sold it without certification.
If you'd like a quote just email me a VIN# and odometer reading.
Thanks!

lexus, in my mind, has a better reliability ranking (I think it is the top in the US?) than MB. The 2007 S is the first year of the new S, so it may have some issue waited to be fixed. I have a 2007 S550, I bought it from new, I baby it during the break in period, so it should have better performance in the future. In 4 years, it doesn't have any major issue.
But since you are considering an used one, be careful since wether it is CPO or not, you probably will get a leased S. If you yourself lease a car, and you know you are gonna return it at the end of lease, will you treat it as your own car? No!. So the S you get may have potential problem since it had a bad break in period.
Bottom line is, if you really want an S, then at least get a 2008. If possible, get a non-leased S.
They offered the following:
4 year/100k miles (to add on top of your current mileage, so in my case, warrant up to 151K miles or 4 yrs, whichever comes first).
$50 deductible.
Bumper to bumper with some exclusions such as wear and tear items. They do NOT cover the struts, which on the ABC/Airmatic cars like the W221 really is a downside.
Allegedly, no maximum payouts.
Price, $2790, $350 down, 18 $136 monthly payments.
OR $2390 in one lump sum.
Thoughts?
I know NOTHING about Direct Buy Auto Warranty. I was just googling Chrysler Service Contract to get the number, and this popped up as a sponsored hit.
Discuss.
Thus far, from my personal experience, only Chrysler Service Contracts are top notch.
