How are the Low Beam headlights adjusted?

I recently acquired a 2012 S350 and my issue is that the low beam headlights illuminate only about 35-40 feet, which at even 30 mph is not far enough. My MB dealer says that they are pre set by the onboard computer and they can't adjust them. I'm confident that the computer can be adjusted, but need to know who and where to go to change the settings. Anyone have suggestions?

Same question here except I am 2012 S550. At 70 mph, low beams offer no safety margin. Answer maybe a bulb swap as in after market. I have not had time to research the issue. Great road car otherwise.

Your cars have auto-levelling head lights and the level is tuned with the Star diagnosis tool.

Thank you very much!

So if I understand, provided one has access to a Star tool, adjustment is possible, correct?

Would a Dealer be permitted to adjust lights per owners request or is that off limits per MB?

Thanks for your help.

They should be able to. I had a car before this that I had adjusted higher. You may be better bringing it to an independent body shop.

Saw some adjusting screws around the headlight light unit. Will there be any effect of beam height to just tune the screws without using STAR ?

I'm your huckleberry
My 13's headlights are aimed too low. The auto-levelers to work fine, but I think the base-adjustment is too low. At freeway speed, the lights do not provide enough look-ahead. I found the adjustment screws so I will bring them up a bit.

I ended up going back to my dealer three times and they were able to adjust the low beams to a level that is appropriate. And I should add much safer.
