+1 on the jump

Same thing happened to my with my old 07.. Had roadside give a jump & was fine thereafter. Dealer even replaced the battery on warranty. I forget what I left on to cause the issue in the first place.

You may already know this, but thought I'd point it out....

2007 has TWO batteries.

Front is for starting the engine
Rear is for electrical consumers (door locks, radio, interior lights.. basically everything except starting the car!)

Front battery is under the hood and looks like small car battery
Rear battery is in the trunk There is a power point under the hood also.

Are you sure you're checking the right battery? Are you looking at the front battery? Or the power point under the hood (which is the rear battery)

So 2010+ only has one battery? How'd they get away with only one. When there used to be two??

Yes, I believe it was around 2010 that they went back to one battery. It was with the refresh that they did.. the refreshed cars have one battery and the older ones have two.

Probably for cost savings.. most other cars have one battery.

I actually like having two batteries.. my SL (R230) is the same way.

It is nice to know that the car will always start even if it has been parked for a while. I think they actually did this starting with the SL's -- heard that people would park them for a month (or even the whole winter) and the car wouldn't start afterwards.. because the electronics eventually drained the battery.

So they put a separate starting battery in.

Nice to know that no matter how long you park the car at an airport, there is one battery dedicated to just starting the car. Even with COMAND turned off, there is a drain and it's on the consumers battery not the starting one.

Yes you need to replace two batteries, but an extra $200 every 7+ years isn't much when you consider the overall cost and maintenance bill for an MB.

Simple fix, jumpstarted the car with powerpack from front battery and started straight away, alternator charging fine. Actually didn't know about the rear battery, thanks for help and replies guys.

I have the same issue. The key fob will not open the car. I tried the mechanical key in the driver door and it only turns one quarter of a turn. It will not unlock the door. I can get into the trunk but that's it. IT's a 2009 car. Any help, greatly appreciated.

Turn key to my unlock position and keep it there
Pull handle quickly (snapping motion)

It should work this way. Also try unlocking and opening trunk as that will open the doors

You need to use mechanical key in drivers door, turn to unlock position and hold it there then with other hand pull the door handle fully then back to original position x3 times one after the other dont stop between pulling the handle on the third time the locks will pop open and you should be in!! good luck
