Factory 20" wheels and some confusion...

Factory 20" wheels and some confusion...
I do love the style of the 19" sport wheels I have. I know also, there is a 20" version for the plus 1, that isn't as pointed of a spoke, but then I also found another 20" wheel, which is also different than the normal 20" plus 1.
I'm trying to figure out which cars come with this slighty different wheel and if it's a newer wheel or older. It seems pretty rare.
Here is the standard 20" plus 1 wheel that you see on most cars with plus 1:
Now, here is the other 20" wheel:
If you stare at them long enough, they start to look the same, but they are different. The 2nd looks more concave or something?

Possible the 2nd was exclusive to the S63/65. You'd need to get behind the back of one and get a part number.
When I bought my S63 wheels I first took a wheel's part number down to MB to verify it was for the 221. The parts guy pulled up a bunch of different wheel faces for that same part #. I may be able to get that from the EPC.

I ran that S63's VIN (the white one on EBay) through the EPC. Per the EPC that wheel is part #A2214013402, item #115:
Pieced together a full set on EBay for $2,179.94 shipped.

Hmm, very cool. Does remanufactured bother you? And how does one do staggered with 4-matic. You can do 275's in the rear like non.

Yes and no. If you want a specific OEM wheel set reman'd is cost effective but there's no way to know what they looked like before they were repaired. The only issues I've had previously have been cosmetic (premature clear coat failure). The alternative is through the dealer, and I'm guessing that's $4k to $5k.
You can run staggered on 4matic, just keep the difference in rolling diameter between front and rear to under 3% when you choose tires. (You could run the 275's, just choose a front tire with a sidewall height that keeps the overall diameter of the front wheel within 3% of the overall diameter of the rear.

Found these on EBay. 19" staggered. Correct offsets for a W221 as well. Pretty good looking replica.

Jason DO NOT BUY REMANUFACTURED WHEELS!!!!! Search for a good pair of take offs from either ebay or craigslist. Only issue is that most sets u will find will be staggered. They are out there good luck!

Have you had a bad experience with reman'd wheels? My current S63 take offs were reconditioned, but I was able to see them before they went to the refurb shop and the damage was all curb rash. They came out beautifully at $500 for the set. Looked brand new.
It's definitely possible for an unscrupulous shop to weld a cracked wheel and then cover the repair with paint, although I've had two full sets on my 220's that were fine.

I would definitely avoid ordering remanufactured wheels online, but if someone could get more info such as you did and also view the product 1st then I don't see an issue with it. It's just that you never know what you're getting and many companies are pumping out these wheels after repairing them and it's a mess.

I wasn't interested for myself but I suggested he get them refurbed and sell them on EBay. I never gave them another thought. When I bought the S550 I stopped by the shop to show off the car and the refurb'd S63 set was stacked in a corner of his office. He paid $500 for reconditioning and then never bothered to try to sell them. I gave him a grand to cover the recon and some profit for his troubles.
