S320CDi hp increase from 235 to 311 - possible and safe ?
Anyone got any experience with the performance chips/mods like this ?

Hardly possible and at least not safe if implemented the way this product does. Search for other solutions and experts who can do it the proper way.

Installation Pictures of Racechip Pro2 Box
Installation is a 5 minute job:
1. Remove Engine Cover
2. Locate Common Rail Connector (3 pin)
3. Unplug CRC and connect to Racechip Harness/Box.
4. Switch on car - no error codes, lights or malfunction at all.
See next post for report.

Initial results of Racechip Pro2.
Ok after a few hours of testing over the last 2 days, here's what I found.
This box is the Racechip Pro2 - apparently this increases HP from 235 to 309 in the W221 S-Class S320CDi.
Have left the chip in default settings (as in picture above) and car in both Comfort and Sport Modes (slightly better performance in S).
1. Car starts and drives fine every time, no error codes or lights etc., no limp mode or anything else. Smooth and Quiet. No smoke from engine etc. or anything unexpected at low or high speed or cruise control.
2. Initial Lag (Diesel) when pulling away in now gone !!! Yippee
I've floored this thing loads from start and I tell you, the car just goes every time when you put your foot down. It's much much quicker.
3. The throttle response and acceleration are greatly improved, really noticeable when going up hill and also when going 0-100mph which is impressive along straight motorway, and when overtaking at higher speeds.
4. The auto gear changes up and down much quicker, again fab for initial acceleration and overtaking.
5. Fuel Economy. Well I went on a 200 mile roundtrip (322 km's) and I used just over 1/4 of a tank of diesel, driving at average 60mph all the way. Well happy with that. What are other Diesel drivers getting btw, is it more or less than this ??
Overall, wasn't sure at all what to expect but delighted so far, well worth the money, one of the best and simplest mods I've done so far. Can also be removed in 5 mins.
Will keep the same settings for a few more days when I am used to the Racechip, and then increase the settings each day to see effect (if any) on parameters. Will hopefully see some objective difference, and then totally remove the Racechip after 2 weeks to be sure it has really made a difference. Post back results then.
