If you have the small battery under the hood, then that is the starter battery. Your aux battery would be located behind the panel that is behind the rear seat on the right. Not an easy change-out for that battery or easy to get to.

If everything inside your car works fine....and your keyless go is always working fine along with interior lighting when the car is not started, then the error is likely referencing the battery in your key....which might need replacing soon.

Try removing positive and negative connections, clean the terminals, then reattach and make sure they are ver tight. It's also possible that you may need to have the battery re-registered to the car.

The facelift model only has one battery.

So what are the voltages at the battery terminals, with the engine on and off?

It's possible that the alternator is failing.

The engine on voltage is slightly low.

It's worth looking into the voltage regulator I think.

Alternator issue! Is your engine making a whiny supercharged sounding noise when you gas it? That was a sign on mine that it was failing, but still charging!

All 2010+ models have only one battery in the front now? Did not know that...

Try this: Start DAS - Information and Communication - IC- Instrument Cluster (Central CAN Bus) - Control unit programming.... - follow the DAS prompts to update the software on the instrument cluster.

2010 221 216 MBUSA released service campaign 201201003 to update IC software due to communication issues. Have dealer check VMI (vehicle master inquiry) to see if update applies to your VIN and confirm it was installed if not, update is free - see attachment.
