Mike, that's not a nice way to welcome a new member.
Wheels are probably the best way to start, I think Mike would agree. Welcome to the forum.

If he's talking about making a pre facelift car look sporty, then yeah, wheels always make the biggest difference. And THEN a "Biturbo V12" fender badge.

Depends on the weather
They are cheap! Seriously though, "facelift" in the context of the forum generally refers to swapping exterior parts from a post facelift (2010+) car onto a 2007-2009 and however you go at it it isn't cheap.

What i've done to mine so far:
Lowering Links
Paint Calipers
Tint
LED Tail lights
Bumper sidemarker lenses
LED license plate lights
Change all interior bulbs to LEDs
Wheels
All of that is pretty cheap and makes a big difference in the appearance of the car. Here are a few links that can get you started with ideas.

I was being sarcastic and realistic at the same time about the low budget, I mean I'm not trying to pay factory OEM prices when I can get substantially cheaper aftermarket parts that will work the same?! For starters I want to change the headlights to the 2010+ model look, and the mirrors as well as the led tail lights. I also want all led interior lights & license plates led too.

You can get most of the parts you're talking about USR a sponsor to the site. The parts look great IMHO, but ain't cheap. It will set you back over $2K which is more than I can justify on a $20K car.

I think Anzi did an S63 body kit (front fascia, rear bumper) on his 2010 AMG appearance-package car and he was selling all of his 2010 stock bits cheap. There was a thread on here awhile back.

Tail lights - 350-400 for the pair

I've found the solution to my LED interior needs, I'm somewhat confused about the exterior Mirror covers I'm seeing on the Internet, do the legitimately replace the oval looking Mirrors that come factory on my 08 s550 (w221) and make them look like the squarer ones on the 2010+ s550 models (w222)? And I have night vision which I don't want to lose trying to convert to the (w222) headlights

The 2010 facelift looks very similar to the previous cars (all 2007-2012 are 221 chassis cars) but in addition to headlamps and foglamps, the bumpers and grilles are different and not compatible with each other. To do the facelift you need the bumper, grille, headlamps and DRL's, plus the related wire harnesses and hardware. Big job.
