Unoriginal parts for your Mb. (Thermostat)

Hello. Wondering what experience you have of not original parts for your car.
The reason I ask is that I need to replace the thermostat, since the engine only reaches 65 degrees Celsius. I was at the Mercedes dealership, and got a price of $ 300, - only for the thermostat. Yes, it is expensive in Norway. So I search online and came across this:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Engin...255206917.html
Less than one tenth of the price.

Assuming the aftermarket part is the same part number(temp range)---why not try it--if it fails you still have nine more try's at getting a good one before it becomes a bad decision!!

Do you have experience with the product, or was it meant sarcastic?

sarcasm. as far as I know the thermostat is electronically controlled, its not just a spring that opens and closes due to heat like it is in an old chevy... I wouldn't trust the Chinese copy to do the same job as the OEM unit for long, if at all... but give it a try and report back with results...

Electronically controlled? Are you joking with me? The thermostat is still similar to an old Chevy. Have you ever opened the hood of your car? Or are you just a show-off behind the computer?

I have read that post before. But it will be no more correct because you repeat it. You've both wrong.
The thermostat is special, yes. A two-stage type which controls two passages. But the connector on the thermostat housing is just a temperature sensor. It controls nothing. Believe me, I've picked it completely in pieces, and there are no moving parts that are controlled electrically. I am a mechanic and knows a lot about cars, but naturally not all. My question was therefore not what your or others believe (you can do that in church), but if anyone has experience with such incredibly cheap car parts.
I can tell you that I have bought this cheap thermostat, and it looks and feels identical to the original. It just lacks Mb stamp on the side. It is now installed and it is working quite as it should so far.
