Tires for S550
I am about ten thousand miles away from new tires but thought I would begin a search on what I want/need. I know the best riding tires would be the very soft rubber tires that will only last about twenty thousand miles max.. I am willing to give up some road comfort for a longer lasting tire somewhere in the forty thousand mile life expectancy . Suggestions ?

I have a w222 with staggered 20 inch wheels and just replaced my Pirelli run flats with the Conti DWS6. All weather tire. Very low road noise and good soft ride. Just a bit less responsive (more bouncy) than the run flats. Only got 11000 miles from the run flats.

Do you have staggered wheels or are they the same size? If they are the same size and you can rotate across all four wheels the tire manufacture guarantee to help. I found the tire rack web site great for getting info on tires and what is recommended/what others are saying about the tires.

2015 S550
Consider the Hankook Ventus S1/Noble2 tires. They have a 60k warranty and are great all-season tires that ride and handle well with very little road noise. Much cheaper than Michelins Pilot AS3's and perform pretty much identical.

I have about 10k miles on my Pirelli P7 Cinturato all seasons, on 2012 S550, and they are amazing. Very little road noise, great handling characteristics (even the wife notices), and have been great during NY snow & rain.

I did Michelin pilot sport a/s 3's in the stock 255/35-20 size. Stock continentals lasted only 20,000kms, should get 45,000kms out of these. Ride great and quiet.
