PCMCIA to SD vs. PCMCIA to CF
with a Samsung 32gb SDHC Class 10. It took me a awhile to get it working but from time to time it will freeze so i would have to eject the memory card re-insert and it will come back on. its frustrating having to reset the card everytime it becomes glitchy. Can someone tell me if you have experienced both a SD or CF card and if so which one works the best. Your feedback is ver much appreciated. Thanks.

I think I have an 8G Transcend SDHC card...
I was told, the adapter manufacturer does make a difference...good luck...Mark

For others similarly situated, I think Tera is an Austrian company. Their stuff may be made in China, but IIRC, Austrians speak German....Hence, their stuff seems to work in our cars...
Glad it works mbaker550....and I'm sure that makes your day....If I got the right Ebay link it cost $100USD... You can get the adapter and card for $30 on Amazon... Let's not spoil the vendors...

Adapter works perfectly fine and had no issues so far. Instead of the recommend bundle that they offer, adapter with 32gb sdhc card, i bought both separately and switched the sd card for this one which is the same price:

Spent 50 CAD for everything. Thx Mark for the post!
o Micro SD to SD adaptors don't work - you need a proper SD card
o The SD card MUST be formatted as FAT32. Windows won't format anything above 32GB as FAT32, only as exFAT (I think this is why a 32GB limit is often quoted) so you need to use a 3rd party disk utility (I used EaseUS Partition Master).
o Best results (faster loading) happened when a full rather than quick format was performed
o Music/Audiobooks/Podcasts/etc. must all be in the same format (all MP3 lossy or lossless, not mixed - didn't try WMA, FLAC, m4a, etc).
o Everything must be in a folder called "Music", effectively that is the Merc's root folder - you can have up to 256 folders or files at any level after that
o The more music you have the longer it takes to show up. I have 110GB of 320MP3 music and it doesn't show up until about 5 mins into a drive
If you have your music in iTunes (like I do) and need to covert it to MP3 I really, really, really recommend MusicBee. If you need any pointers on this PM me and I'll send you the settings I have and try to give you a few pointers.
Hope this helps,
John
Everything else seems to be true.
