Can you play music from your iPhone with the Bluetooth feature? I connected my phone via bluetooth but don't know how to play music. If so please explain?

You cannot. If the car came with the optional IPod kit (30 pin Apple cable in the glove box) you can pick up an inexpensive Bluetooth adapter that allows you to pair any BT phone or device to it. Otherwise there's no way to get music from your phone into the car. Crazy I know given how much an S600 cost in 2007 but no S Class built before 2014 got BT Audio.

Unfortunately the parts for the optional IPOD kit have not been available for several years (at least from Mercedes). It is simply a cable with the old style iPhone connector on one end and a few pins that are inserted into an existing connector on the back of the radio. There might be an aftermarket custom cable available. After the cable is installed, the interface needs to be enabled using a Mercedes DAS (maintenance computer) which easily could be done by any dealer in a few minutes once the vehicle is connected to the machine.

Any idea where to get one of those cables? Ive been looking and cannot find it. My 08 CL600 came with the kit, but needs to be replaced. Lastly, any idea where the cable from the glove box goes? I pulled the command unit out and it does not run directly to the back or if. It seems to run back behind the command unit and down into the passenger kick panel somewhere. I cannot seem to find the source. Any suggestions?

If your car already has the iPod kit in it and you know that the iPod cable is the part that is bad, then you can find just that cable on eBay. The entire kit has the control module and 2 different cables. The control module and the cable that run to the glove box are fairly easy to source in the used market. The cable that runs from the head unit to the control module is almost impossible to find either new or used. If you get lucky and do find that cable, you'll likely pay dearly for it. Fortunately, it appears that the cable you need is the easier one to source.

The head unit connects to the control module via the elusive cable and the iPod cable hooks into the same control module.

That cable leads to the iPod interface module, that looks like the pictures in the eBay listing below. Then there is a cable from the head unit that leads to the module. If you're able to follow the cable from the head unit to the interface module, then you'll know that the other cable coming out of it is the iPod cable. Perhaps if you disconnect the iPod cable from the control module, you can pull the cable from the area where you ran into the dead end until you get it all out of there.

I haven't a clue. But I would imagine it would be near the head unit.

I thought so too. But after pulling the command unit out, that wire runs somewhere into the kick panel. I cant seem to trace where it goes. But appreciate your help on identifying what the box looks like. That will help.

You might want to try sending a PM to Alx or Konigstiger. Either of them should be able to tell you where that iPod interface is.

The Data/Connections menu on the COMAND in the Telephone menu is very misleading in the 07-09 US models.

It's actual purpose is to pair a headset to it, like the ones you saw with a blinking blue light many years ago everyone had in their ear? It is a "privacy" feature, so if you were using the the built-in car phone (cradle or separate Bluetooth adapter) and wanted to take a conversation "private" if there were passengers in the car, you would use this Bluetooth option to pair a Bluetooth headset to the COMAND, to direct phone audio to the headset. You get any use from pairing an iPhone, Laptop, or any other Bluetooth device to the COMAND, although it will generally authorize it.

It has another purpose as well...

You can use it to populate the address book by sending a vcard file to the connection. My Lumia 950XL wouldn't send my address book to the car but I was able to use an older Nokia phone(Purview 808) to populate the address book using Data/Connections.
