Pics of my new car! Traded the w221 for w222
So after a couple weeks looking for the right replacemnent found the car i wanted and bought it the next day... Got some good advice from my buddy Jason to leave a deposit on the car before i got there so they couldnt sell it.
So onto details....diamond white, exclusive black nappa, comfort package, Amg sport package, designo black piano black trim, warmth and comfort package, premium 1, drivers assist package, rear spolier and suede headliner!
so after driving for 2 days the cars are pretty night and day. cars handling has improved drastically and it feels lighter and nimbler than the 221, the power increase is noticeable thanks to the twin turbos and flies onto the highway. Interior is amazing ambient lights are brighter and deeper. Burmeister stereo is clearer w much better low end bass response, bluetooth streaming is amazing, main sunroof feels larger, I do feel the back legroom is less but havent tried to verify that. Trunk opens w a kick under center bumper and closes same way. Overall the car def feels more refined and wayy less boaty and so far glad with the swap. Onto a few pics. Whats your thoughts?

Congrats, I'm looking trade my 07 for a LWB W222, I'm looking for the interior with diamond stitch like yours, most out here in Vancouver I've seen didn't have that option.
Also out here there seems to be a lot more S63s for sale than the S550s.

Hey buddy, your car looks beautiful. I love the white color on that car.
I had a W222 last year and I am one of the few that have gone back to the W221, but will share my thoughts. First I sold my W222 for personal reasons, not that I did not like it, because I certainly did. I do feel the W222 was a bit quicker when you punch it, but not a great deal as the W221 is plenty fast. I do feel that in sport mode, the W222 feels a bit tighter.
The interior is upgraded as well, with a natural progression in technology and the command system.
The seats area just as comfortable to me, and the W221 has massaging seats, and multicontour just like the W222.
The exterior is the biggest change to me. I like the W222, but also love the W221. It is an iconic design. I have done a lot of business with my local MB dealer and when I was shopping for this car, asked him about the W221 and W222. The salesman told me people call constantly about the availability of used W221's, and when they get them, they will typically sell very quickly. So.. the demand seems high on them. Now, this could partly be because of the price point on the W221 as they are considerably less expensive than even the 2014 W222's.
I love my W221, but also loved the W222. You will enjoy it. I recently bought this car because I loved the design and found one equipped with all the goodies my kids and I wanted, so I made the move and found one certified. Mine is a 2013, and was able to pick one up in the low $30k's as opposed to a 2014 in the low $60k's, or high $50k's. Quite a difference to me. This W221 is not my only car, so that may make a difference to some.
Anyhow, I don't think you can go wrong with either, as they are both great cars. Enjoy your new W222!!

Great move. Congrats on your new ride! I am biased on the W222 as I feel the design has evolved to be more elegant than the W221 exterior and interior-wise, but the sport package makes both models look better (almost a requirement). The W222 is a step-up in reliability as well. These are basically non-issue cars 4 years in.
Also nice to have the exclusive Nappa; having zero MB-Tex in the car definitely has a more luxurious feel.
That W222 does looks better with larger rims, so 20"/21" are a nice upgrade option (depending on the roads around you).
Enjoy!

I have come to discover a lot has to do with the offset of the wheel. My new Mazda has 20's on them and they were meant for that car. I ran stock 17's and aftermarket 17's on my BMW. This past Spring I put 18's on that were wider and forged and the car handles and rides much better like it was always meant for 18's. It never rode great with the 17's. Mercedes had a habit of forcing bigger wheels on previous generations of cars that it should not have had. Where you running 20's on your 2010 S Class? I have 18's on mine but am afraid to go bigger because I don't want a problem down the line and I don't want the ride quality to suffer.

rode great. offset is the distance in the wheel well btw, so either flush w the fender or sunk in a bit. I dont think that has much to do w bending the wheel.
