Heated steering wheel doesn't work

The heated wheel doesn't work on my newly purchased 2012 S63. The light on the stalk comes on, but the steering wheel doesn't heat up at all. Does anyone else have this issue, or solved this issue? Any help is appreciated.

Only the leather part of the steering wheel heats up, not the wood.

Thanks, I found that out after posting this thread. The leather section still doesn't appear to get warm though. Is the heating noticeable, or is it very subtle?

I poked around in the SAM fuses, etc, and it doesn't look like an obvious repair. Has anyone repaired their heated wheel? I'm curious what parts were replaced or repaired.

It should be very warm bordering on downright hot.

Thanks, that's what I thought. It's definitely not heating then.

Can anyone confirm if a relay should open or close in the SAM when the heated wheel is engaged? I don't hear anything, but I do hear a relay when I move the wheel position.

I would check to see if the heating connector is attached which will require removing the air bag and using STAR to clear the resulting fault code.

Yes, it was unplugged (no clue why). Disconnect the battery and take part the steering wheel to see the plug. I forgot if you have to unplug the airbag to get to it, but if you do, keep in mind that the car will throw an airbag code even if you unplug it with the battery disconnected.

previous owner probably didn't like it getting so hot... or it had an air bag replaced and they forgot to reconnect.

No fuse operated direct by front SAM, read through attachments previously posted: https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...ml#post7631670

Have to either see a dealer or get STAR, which I should anyhow. Eyeing a C3 setup.
Have appointment with dealer anyhow for a noise rear strut.

the ONLY package that makes sense is the BenzNinja setup... the rest is just virus infected old junk, no info on the right VCI and its so mad you'll never understand how to do anything in the exciting arena with any merc - the value is the support ( the tool on its own is more or less useless - and no huge community of how, like there is for other brands - and even if you think there is - the reality is its just liars and fools keeping all the knowledge to themselves - the only thing with BMW, is 100.000 people have all tried before you and across 6 different forums and after year's worth of research you have a small clue on how to tackle some of the most simple jobs like enabling Bluetooth )

he advertises on this forum nearly every week...

https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...ce-coding.html

I don't think he does Personal Messages on the forum... he has a job to do fixing 99.9% of every merc ever made (as the dealers certainly don't have a clue)
