So I am selling my S550 and have placed a deposit on a S600 with 100K miles. Designo interior, new plugs and coil packs all the way around. Super sharp car. Aside from plugs and coil packs, anything else I should be looking out for on these?
ABC suspension. I read that if you change the fluid and filter every year or 2 it will last longer.
I know that according to the records it has had one new abc strut replaced. What typically fails on the ABC? Struts themselves or ?

typically strut fails one by one over time. the biggest bill would be the tandem ABC/power steering pump and the high pressure hose. but clean fluid will help the longevity Originally Posted by 2007sclass

Good luck to you. I never drove one but I hear they are just grand. I wish you luck. With the right service, 100k is not that much. My 550 had 127,000.Originally Posted by 2007sclass

Hey in case you need any parts for your S600 I'm actually parting out a black 2010 S600 with only 53k miles. Let me know and congrats on the new car!

ABC usually fails like any hydraulic system, from the rubber components. Regular inspections and fluid changes are key. The pumps can be had rebuilt for 10% of the cost of new MB. I bought one for my car when a line burst, AC Delco reman, still working awesome 2 years later.

Theres a few pics before I tore the car apart. Most parts still available, nothing from the front of the car (collision).
