Need another key.
I'm in the dallas tx area. Needing a 2nd key made for my 2013 s550 with push to start. Dealers in my area want $725...or more.
I called about 15 locksmiths and none can help with a key that will start the car, just to open doors.
Any ideas where to get it done for less..or is this a dealer only thing.

Only available from dealers and you must bring your car to them so they can verify you are the owner. Try checking with other dealers within a reasonable driving distance for a better price.

It is around $250, they will order it for you based on your VIN number and it will come already programed. When order it you need to show them proof that you own the car ( title and driver license, etc)

I could make you one, but could not cut a blade key or offer KG functionality. It would do everything else - lock/unlock/trunk/panic, and start vehicle.

725 is robbery.... typical rate is 450-550 at a dealer... cost me 450 i think for the 12 ml63 a few month's back... sarasota fl

I usually get a fair price from my dealer parts counter because I'm a long time customer 15+ years and take the time to develop the relationship. The non-KeylessGo keys are ~$250 nowadays and the KeylessGo version is $450-500. $720 is absurd, but in the past at other dealers (big one on Las Vegas comes to mind) I've seen the price gouging.

I've had them done for about $250 at the dealer. Can't remember whether it was a Dallas dealer or Fayetteville, NC. For abut $41 you can have the little metal key that is part of your big key made.
I try to keep the little key in my wallet when I'm traveling.
