Unhappy Fuel Tank Leak

Hi Everyone,

I have a W221 S450 2008. Unfortunately, I have an underneath fuel tank leaking bubble. The new part is way too expensive. I got second-hand one from S550. I am not sure about the fitment. PN#A2214704301.

Thank you for your help as this is a burden to remove and reinstall ":-((

Fedley,

Very sorry to hear this. Are you sure it is the fuel tank?

i just fixe a leak in my W221 fuel tank... but wasn't the tank, it was the fuel filter. Very common problem and easy to fix.

Might want to add, Xentry actually has a fuel tank leak test. Found it earlier today while looking at other issues.

The tank can be fixed. It's a PIA but it's possible.

Thanks konigstiger, MikeKerr7, and The Thomas J.
I do think it is compatible even though the catalog doesn't show it. if anyone has a reliable EPIC, please just confirm the updated part number. I found an online one that shows the same part number for almost all W221 variants. http://mbepc.net/en/1/fg/s/63w/22108.../015#gsc.tab=0.

My vehicle is 221.084

I want to make sure if anyone can agree with it please because the part is costly!. By the way, The Thomas J., I have already done the fix today by using a fuel tank potty, but I don't think it will last because there is more than one spot likely to leak due to the salty roads in winter.

I didn’t see in EPC the target part number for vehicle 221.084

Please post your VIN

Target part number validity:
