He kindly gave me an EBAY link to a seller called GARIVE _5 who sold the programs. In the end, I get in touch with this seller and I tell him that I am going to do the installation on an external hard drive and he tells me that it is no problem that he sends me a link with the programs and instructions and I ask him if he can help me through of TEAMVIEWER in case I can't install it. he tells me yes. So I make the payment via paypal. and it sends me the programs, I do the installation, I install the virtual box and now when I go to open the program I get an error. I have already written many times to the seller and I have asked him to please help me to solve this error so that I can use the programs but I do not receive any answer. Anyway, now I have 130 GB of WIS EPC ASRA programs that I can't use. in short I do not want to think that this seller has kept my money. then it strikes me that in the negative comments on his eBay profile there are many users with the same problem as me. . I have already written to him several times but he does not respond. I think these things happen to me for trusting people. Well, I wanted to know if a fellow member of this great forum, which has helped me a lot, can install these programs for me. and if you have to pay for his service, tell me how much. Something recently happened to my program...I'm no longer able to access it. I get an error something about a kernel and Virtual Box. My seller (different seller than yours) sent me a fresh link, but I ended up with the same problem. I don't know what is going on...perhaps there were updates to Virtual Box that are not compatible with the programs we all bought? Are others still finding their versions working?

Today I ordered a fresh copy from another seller. He offers installation help, so I'm hoping he can get it up and going.

Well I want to update the thread. In the end, the seller responded. apparently the EBAY message system Where I communicated with him has a problem. The messages do not arrive. he wrote back telling me that he had written to me asking for access to my computer to install the programs. and I hadn't received any messages so I'm guessing the lack of communication was eBay's message system issue. in the end we have arranged for tomorrow morning to give him access to my computer and finish installing the programs. I have thanked him.

well in the end after a while with the seller and trying to install what he sold me he couldn't make it work. even he couldn't get the programs to work. his reply was after 40 minutes i don't have time to make this work. that is, not even he can make what he sells work. Finally, I'll leave it there. I reimburse the money, that must be made clear. finally EPC.WIS. ASRA. in virtual machines in Windows 7 32 bit with eBay link did not work for me. Curious if others have virtual machine systems still working. I've got 2 programs from different Ebay vendors. I've deleted everything, downloaded fresh everything, and tried again. I still can't get either to work. One of the sellers will try installing it on my Mac today, but my hopes are not high. I think this avenue to have WIS might be dead. At least for me.

I purchased one of these from eBay in 2016. Uses VMware to display and it is searchable.

Many failed attempts to load/install/work until I asked my company PC support to take a look. (Seller and eBay were ZERO help)

Support techs 'fixed it' (knowing VM Ware is helpful I guess) and it 'ran' fine. Until I relocated the files to another personal laptop.

It was not an easy navigate, but a YouTube on how to use WIS/EPIC was very helpful.

My suggestion: Find and pay a techie who knows VM Ware, it is a very common software. My son used it in his STEM high school.

I would do it again if I needed it. Slow - but it did the job.

This is interesting. I bought an eBay WIS when I bought my E55 in 2020 and as far as I know it still works. It is possible that a Windows update (or other update) broke something. I have had issues in the past with virtualized things and have ended up having to work around it on my own (I have some GM software that is similar).

I got mine working again, and now know what the problem is, at least for me. The VM software was updated, and that caused my software to no longer work on any of my computers. I know it would make sense that if you deleted everything, and reinstalled it should work, right? But, no, it didn't and I tried on 3 different computers. Maybe it was a combination of new IOS software and VM software. What finally worked was pulling an old computer off the shelf, and reinstalling everything from the vendor, on to this old, unupdated unit. It works fine. I'm careful to not update this old machine. So, that was my key.

Just fired up my VirtualBox driven WIS. Works fine. Never update anything!!

I paid $18 (on eBay) in June 2020 to coincide with my E55 purchase. Always worked for me.
