remove everything from front of motor to hoise motor out
on stand take off everything to get to cylinder take off oil pan
expose crank
find bent cylinder rod
and reverse
6-8 months
Run diagnostic
and wha la ….. car runs
note no gasket for oil pan
damn Mercedes uses glue
no Leaks
there is life after death

"find bent cylinder rod" - this is a common issue on AMG engines that have been chipped - then driven by madmen.
Seems some owners don't understand asking a chunk of cold aluminum to make 600 horse power 1 foot after driving off from a night club - well before the oil noticed it was running, and the cyl block was ever warm enough to left the bits of aluminum move easily, tends to come to an ugly end.
How did the cyl bore look ? On the three AMGs with a 3mm bend in one rod I've seen, they all took out the bore too - there are people making single cast iron liner bodge up kits - as otherwise its $40k to have a new AMG block meeting its original specification

What's a cylinder rod? Is that the same as a piston rod?

...wow another odd USA naming convention ?
the Conrod connects the piston to the crank - never heard anyone call it by any other words
there's reason this gets the name

they messed it up - and put a kink in it - and now they crash rather than blow up
real motoring - then gets a wobble on going on and thus doesn't reach the conrod straight
