2008 s550 no crank no start

I own a 2008 S550. After accidentally jumping it with the key on, I'm experiencing no crank and no start. Both batteries have been replaced, the starter is functioning properly, but there's no communication from SAM. SAM, which is new from Mercedes-Benz, has power but isn't communicating with anything.

HELP!!!!! I’m thinking I need to get ecm reprogrammed?

This sounds like a classic case of frying the front SAM. Even a new one needs to be coded to the car. You need a professional with Mercedes-specific diagnostic software like STAR to properly code the new SAM to your vehicle. The ECM may be fine; the communication issue is almost certainly the uncoded SAM.

I know that this sounds crazy, but I had the exact same symptoms. Fuel pump relay behind the rear seat storage compartment was the fault. I dealt with this random fault for months, replacing, starter, fuel pump, and filter, until it finally gave up. Swapping the relay completely fixed it. May be a cheap and quick experiment for you.

"Fuel pump relay behind the rear seat storage compartment" do you mean Relay S on the Rear SAM ? which is accessed by folding down the rear centre armrest and popping off a cheap nasty cover, where upon you see the SRB with fuses and relays clipped on top on the Rear SAM
