Leftover '15 Discounts For In Stock Vehicles

I recently got a C class for my daughter, who needed me to cosign. Because I did not want to be on the lease, and take on the responsibility of any accidents, I was able to secure a one payment lease for 27 months.
That seemed to make sense for me. It was actually pretty cheap.

I do generally agree with this, however they do have their uses.

Aren't you still "on" the one pay lease thus still potentially liable if she gets into an accident
Or did you just tx money into her account, and let her pay it directly ... but then, how did she quality for the lease to begin with

As a result of this structure, I have no connection to this lease, and thus, no liability.

Any updates on what deals people are getting? It seems every dealer is flooded with '15 inventory. Currently looking at a $118 sticker car. Any thoughts on what incentives will be available during the winter event?

I'd like to know this too. I am looking at a fully loaded $135k car and would love to know what to expect as far as price discount... I have a 2016 on order but my not quite 3y old car (thank you BMW) is on the fritz so now I need something sooner.

My deal ...
I bought a '15 S550V4 at end of August with a sticker just a bit above 118k and had a negotiated price down to 102.5k ... things should be a little more favorable now. If anyone needs the dealer name (they have lots of stock and ship anywhere) send me a PM.
(Note: I did not have any special affiliation or relationship with this dealership.)

15.25% off MSRP with no dealer fee is the best I've been offered so far (I'm in S FL). New MB Conquest money will be out on 10/1...hoping MB steps it up another $5,000.00.

Here is Edmund's terms for September:
36/10 lease numbers on the 2015 S550 are .00051 and 51%.
For the 2016, it's .00107 and 52%.

FYI: I ordered a 2016 S550 4matic at the end of June. It was picked up two weeks ago. MSRP is $136715. I negotiated just over a 10% discount. I have purchased many new cars from this MB dealer over the past 20 years (last new one was '14 S550 4matic) and have a good relationship with them. Don't know what kind of deals on '16s one can get but that was my deal.

Just negotiated 13% on a 2015 S550 V4. A total of $16,520 (14.25%) with AMEX Silverstar, Guest Appreciation Bonus and MB Club discounts.

Personally, I think the '15 models will be discounted more than other model years because dealers loaded up on inventory too heavily after the great '14 sales cycle.
Don't expect to see a flood of '16 models at the same time next year...
That said, I think dealers will wait until the winter-events to discount more to close the deal on the average MB buyers.

I do not agree with your conclusion.
Every deal and situation is different.
But I wanted to give some perspective.
How many cars have you purchased from your MB dealer in the past? I have purchased two new S Class cars and a E class from this dealer in the past two years. I also have been purchasing cars from this dealer regularly over the past 20 years.
I would conclude that 15% off is a pretty good deal on a '15 S Class but again every situation and deal is going to be different.

I disagree with your conclusion and for the exact reasons I stated above. Therefore 15% is not that great right now and as I and others have stated 20% would be more like it for all the aforementioned reasons. In addition I have bought many new MB's from this dealer over the last two decades.

I would like to know what your discount target is. Your expectation may just not be possible.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this thread, 15-18% was the target for a strong deal at the time, and 20 up to even 25% for Dec.

I personally don't think 25% is in the cards unless it's some undesirable high-mileage dealer demo. Discounts like that I have only seen during a model change (like leftover W221's), not during a first mid-cycle.
Getting one in Dec. will be your best bet. I hope your get the spec you are looking for!

With that said, with a MF of 0.00051 why bother to put money down? Savings equal the price of a dinner...

I did revisit the thread from the beginning and probably see, just like you, a lot of different opinions. Much of that has to do with regional differences and the desirability of specific cars (colors/options).

I've known the 20%+ would be possible in Dec for the SE and NE regions and did not expect to get that now; I believe I've previously stated ~15 now (Sept) and 20%+ y/e (see post #3). Depending upon how long the dealer has been been sitting on the car negatively affecting his floor plan, color, options (and mileage as you state) will also matter. MB's trunk money (conquest, performance bonus etc.) should be substantially stronger by year end with monthly upticks happening soon. Not many are aware these kinds of discounts can be had, hence the varying discount projections here. Good news is, the internet and excellent forums like these can help spread the word. As they used to say: Power to the People.
