New guy to Mercedes
Before tint.
That interior though!
Hello all! I recently picked up my first Mercedes Benz. Went with the S450 sport with diamond white exterior with porcelain and black interior. I bought this as a replacement to my Lexus LS460. The thing that completely sold me on the S-Class was the interior! When I first seen it in the porcelain and black I knew I had to have it! Then throw in the technology and the ride and I was sold.
It took a bit to find the exact car I was looking for and I'm glad I waited. I was going to go with a used S63 but figured I'd start with the regular S and go from there. Maybe in a few years I'll get into the S63 as long as no major changes are made to it.
So far I've had the Xpel Prime XR tint and Xpel clear bra applied to the car. I also ordered 22" forged wheels. The wheels are special order so I'm still about 4 weeks out until they are made. The only other thing cosmetically I will be doing is blacking out the small section of the roof behind the sunroof (I think this should come black from the factory to match the front part of the roof) and maybe a lowering module. Going to wait to see how she looks sitting on the 22's in sport mode.
Anyway, I enjoy reading all the info. you guys have to share and the beautiful cars that connect us. Here's a few pics. Cheers!!
To say that I was disappointed with EVERYTHING about the new LS would be a gross understatement. The car was equipped with the optional air suspension, but did not ride anywhere as nicey as an AirMatic equipped S Class, let alone a car with MBC. The V6 FELT like a V6, unlike an S450 and the interior was really not impressive, especially when compared to a W222. Add to all this the fact that one needs to close their eyes as they approach the car, to prevent nausea from merely looking at the front end and I say the new LS is destined to be a major flop for Toyota. Honestly, someone over in Japan needs to get the big knife out and do the right thing. Lexus dealers worldwide need to get together and perform an “intervention,” of Lexus executives. As far as I am concerned, current Lexus vehicles, across the board, are a joke and the joke is on the customers.
For what seemed like 2 or 3 full years, Lexus teased us with little tidbits of hype, describing their new LS as something truly revolutionary in luxury sedans. I mean, the hype was WAY over the top, to the point where I thought that just sitting in the car was going to be some sort of mind blowing experience. Well, as a previous owner of eight, fully loaded LS sedans, I felt that I owed it to myself to drive the new LS500, even though my new S560 was in transit from Germany at the time.

I didn't figure you'd buy crap. Lol.
Can't wait to see the finished product.
Love me a fine looking S class.
There are some Lexanis I absolutely love, but they were too heavy for me so I bought some flow forged wheels.
Keep us updated

Great choice! Can't wait to see it with your wheels on it. I showed my uncle the new Lexus LS500 at the Baltimore Auto Show and he said (I had to laugh)... "I wouldn't take that car if they gave it to me for free".
Aptly put.
