How to Turn Radio Off?
Just purchased a 2015 S550 and have discovered most of the "how to's". I like to drive with the "navi" on but no radio, no CD, etc just quiet. I can't seem to find an "off" command for the radio? Anyone help?
Thanks

The radio is an integral part of the system, as it is for many other cars. It is used to power many other systems, such as navigation. If you do not want the radio to be playing a music/station you must mute it by pressing the volume button once. You can turn off the radio and the other systems by turning the center screen OFF by using the on/off button on the console; it turns navigation off too.

all wrong, there is an off botton on the center console upper right, push it off and the whole ceneter screen also shuts push again and back on.

Another trick would be to fool the car by just selecting USB as a music source under Media Menu without actually plugging any USB disk

Isn’t it fascinating that our cars are so complicated that in 2018 you have to:
- use (own) a computer
- connect to Internet
- formulate a question
- wait for a reply
- several hundred humans read it/think about it
- a couple of them answer
- few days later you know how to turn off a radio

Not complicated -- poor UI design. I swear whoever designed the infotainment UI for the 2018 needs to be sentenced to a life of actually using it. I agree the 2014-2017 menus weren't great, especially with the double-menus for Nav, Radio, Media, BUT the 2018 design is a mess. An attractive mess, but still a mess.
Sometimes you wonder WHO and WHY designed things the way they did and how could it make its way into production.
I'm deeply involved in UX/UI/R&D of consumer retail products so of course my original post was an exaggeration and I meant to be funny.
