The W223 will be launched in May of 2020.
Does the video S Class look like the spy photo?

Is this some sort of photoshop rendering or something leaked by an MB employee?

This can't be real. If it is - there's going to be a lot of new 7 series customers.

Wow haters. There is nothing wrong with a very conservatively designed (or boring) looking car. And they will age far far better than something that looks aggressive. Today's Audi A8 looks like an A8 from a decade ago. And in ten years, will still look classy. I can't say the same for some cars.

I do not believe many W222 owners will jump to BMW. As one of our former presidents once said: “It’s the ride, stupid!”
I do believe that the new Bentley Flying Spur may be a consideration, for some W222 owners.

Guys, is this the new S? This is the most original rendering/pic I have seen thus far. That grille... I’m not so sure about it. The door handles and new mirrors kind of match the spy photos. Hmm. what do you guys think?

Based on everything leaked so far, regardless of accurate or not. I have seen nothing in the 223 that excites me. Design/renderings if accurate are underwhelming.

Honestly, I agree. There is no substantial change in design language that I can see thus far.

I agree. I own a tesla and love it for what it is. The picture above says nothing luxurious.

I cannot believe that they expect to sell this platform to many of the existing older S-class base.

That tablet looks so out of place and such a waste of storage space behind it.

You know, before I started driving S Class sedans as my daily drivers (had SL’s for decades), I had eight, new, Lexus LS models. All were fully loaded and when NAV started to be available, I think around 2000, all of them were touch screens. Admittedly, the screens were tiny compared to what we see predicted in the W223, but I must say that using the touch screen in those Lexus cars was MUCH easier than dealing with Command. Of course, there were fewer features back then, but I would easily take a touch screen NAV, with regular buttons, switches & knobs for most everything else, over the current Command system. Just sayin.

Ah, memories of my 2001 LS430 - the first year of the re-design of that car and the touchscreen nav. As for the new W223 design, my dealer GM told me he saw the new version and said it is much more well-incorporated that the spy photos and speculated renderings suggest (God, I hope so). He described it as a flowing waterfall design. The new C Class walkaround video may give a hint at the design implementation, but who knows for sure? Here's a link to that video at the timestamp for the console: If the timestamp doesn't copy, it's at 4:38

Your dealer GM told you he saw the W223? I didn't know that dealers got a look at it well in advance. I imagine that would lead to so much leaking. The guy buying 10 S Classes in a row would most definitely be able to get the Dealer to show him the new edition before release.

Are you saying that the center console of the C Class walkaround video is giving a hint of the new model? I think in my humble opinion that its the exact opposite. MB Went for a total departure. I happen to like the C Class interior (and shown below) for its rich warm lux inviting feel. Its more Wood than Tech - whereas the new S appears to have ALL tech and the tiniest amount of lux feel.

I'm NO photoshop expert - and this is a crude makeup but to get a waterfall look like your GM said - it would have to look something more like the 3rd photo. I just played around with it - and if it looked more like that - it would have a more balanced look (not pretty - but balanced)

I suppose it is POSSIBLE the dealer GM saw the new W223 but come on! That is BS to me. I have been to Germany in Sindelfingen and Affalterbach in the factory environment and I know how tight they keep this information. Heck I wanted to get a peek of the new factory 56 (where the new S Class will be built and the new MB electric cars) and I was strongly urged that is not possible even though I was standing right outside the doors of the new factory.

I agree. And I don't mean to sound like the previous member wasn't being truthful - I think his GM was being less than truthful in order to come across as more knowledgeable.

The car's still a good 6 to 8 months away from release. I cant imagine anyone being given full visual on the new product this early on.

I read its going to be released in 2020 - so you figure no less than 6 months - and if they do it at the NY Auto Show - thats beginning of April.

Meanwhile - Question for everyone - what the hell is this?

Maybe a concept from a few years ago, of an EV?

Based on the image on the screen inside the car looks like a coupe. Probably wishful thinking.

Essentially, the concept interior design for the current S coupe/cab.

I can't speak to the GM's 'truthfulness', though I don't know why he'd so flatly lie or misrepresent or spout BS. We had a 10 min talk while I was in for service A a few weeks back and asked about the new model. He volunteered that he had seen the interior. He described it as a "waterfall" style of implementation and admitted that S Class owners are the group least likely to want such changes and that they (us) would take considerable convincing. I simply added (in this thread) that maybe the curvy console style of the C Class in the video was a hint at the upcoming style. No need for all the conspiracy theories or suggesting the guy's a lying loon, etc. So, to all the 'c'mon mans', 'bs', 'I've bought 10 so I'd be invited', etc. - whatever helps you sleep at night. I was just trying to add a bit of real world info I was told by a reputable (to me) source - I didn't add any actual BS Photoshop crap or speculate further or insist on taking this as fact.
