Cornering Lights on 2018/2019 S Class Models
I can't get a definitive answer. Are the Cornering Lights on Multibeam S Class headlights inoperable for US models (particularly the S450)?

I have been told mixed messages. one dealer says they should work. The other says they're not on the S450 but on the S560, I had MBUSA customer care say they are not active per US standards (one caller); I have another stating they should work.
Mine do not work although they are present in the vehicle. If you have a 2018 S class, please show me photos that yours are working by sending a photo.
Thanks,

I don't believe the cornering function is tied to the turn signal. When I turn the steering wheel the headlights follow. I leave my light control switch in auto.

Actually the cornering light function IS tied to the turn signal. I have a friend who owns an S560 and I placed a black paper over the light sensor in the windshield (between the two stereo cameras) his lights automatically came on. I asked him to turn on each signal light and wollah! his cornering lights lit up on the respective sides. I just tested this out before writing this post. Also, the cornering light function illuminated on both sides simultaneously, when he put the car in reverse. The function can be tested by covering the light sensor with a dark piece of paper (or your car manual leather binder). Test it, turn on your signal and tell me if the cornering lights illuminate on your S450? If they do, then something is going on with mine.

i have an '18 s450; it is equipped with cornering lamps as standard. and they work as intended. whenever i move the wheel slightly - in either direction - at low speeds - that side of the car to which i moved the wheel illuminates. the lamps also illuminate when i use the turn indicators. i live in the usa. exteriour lamps set to auto. too hard/dangerous to capture the images with pictures or video whilst driving. op will need to take my word for it - my s450's cornering lamps work brilliantly (pun!).

Ajm0623, YES! That’s exactly how they are supposed to work! And they work when standing at an intersection. Today, I went to my stealership and showed the service manager, who kept telling me all the lights are working, and asked him to grab the keys as I took him with me to one of the S450’s on the lot. We cranked the car up, turned the wheel left and right then used the signals (we had to cover the light sensor with a black towel). The cornering lights (which are tucked into the inside of the housing right behind the daytime running lights) lit up! The service guys ran a computer program in an attempt to reprogram the cornering lights; didn’t work. Now they had to write in to Germany for a program to have the cornering lights “follow the command” of what the car is asking them to do . . . . Light up at night, when standing at intersections or turning corners or backing up. To all in the thread who thought that this only occurs while the car is moving, I’m not sure you know exactly what cornering lights are. . . . Or if yours even work; these are very distinct lights, you’d know if you have them . . . You’d miss them if you no longer had them.
